Are you sure you used Ariel and not a cheap brand? LOL! :p

    Just kidding.

My suggestion would be use a different battery not the one that got washed. I would personally throw that one away.

there are places that do no fix no fee repairs (except postage) which maybe woprth doing if the phone is a newish one.

Hi everyone please never ever switch your phone on after its been for a swim i know the urge to see if it still works is great, but just dont.get the battery out of the phone immediately and let the phone dry slowly in the airing cupboard or on a warm, not hot radiator.i once had a pipe burst over my telly luckily it wasnt plugged in,i let it dry infront of the radiator for a week the telly has worked for 2 years since.

Apart from the fact that it's sqeaky clean!

BUT like dr bob said NEVER EVER switch your phone on after it's been in the wash.

Most people don't know that all the electronics inside the phone are always waterproof, apart from screen and few other things like speakers but even these can be.

It's also possible to take your phone apart and wash it!!!!!! And not damage it using pure water and not tap water.

But the battery is nearly always screwed up, the water short circuits it and your lucky it doesn't blow up!

    hi
i have a nokia 6280 which was dropped in a bath last week the buttons would not respond at all however this week certain buttons are responding now but it is very tempremental now. i took it to carphone warehouse to see if there was any way it could be repaired and they just said it was water damaged and no it could not,he said there was a board in the back that had swollen due to water and that was what was causing the problem , i cancelled my insurance to save money so cant claim off that.
my question is does anyone know if it is possible to repair a water damaged phone {it literally just splashed in the water } is it worth trying to by a phone of e bay or somewhere similar to use the parts or should i just cut my losses and buy a cheapie until my contract is up for renewal
    thanks boots

You could try to dry it by leaving it in the airing cupboard, next to a radiator or on a window cill (not in direct sunlight though).

If it does not work after drying it out then a cheap PAYG phone will do if you want to cancel after your contract is up.

There is the option of upgrading if you are close to your contract end, or an early upgrade if you are still some way until the end. This option will cost more than an normal upgrade when your out of comitment though.

is it just the buttons that are playing up?
if so it needs the membrane removing and cleaning
otherwise it may need an ultrasonic clean. no liquid damage repair can be guarenteed to work though
there are people who do no fix no fee repairs
