i would strip it right down and leave it in an airing cupboard for a couple of days before trying again
I second that, leaving it in the airing cupboard is the best way to dry it out.
In the meatime, if she is worried about not having a phone, you/she could order this phone. It is on Virgin, total cost is £18 delivered. If you are already a customer you will get the £10 included as a top up card, so your mother could use that on her existing sim/number.

Also if you use Quidco you get £8 as well, making the cost of the phone and £10 credit, a whole £10 which is a bargain.
If anybody wants to use Quidco, go thru Quidco in the normal way, find the same phone, but it will be priced £24.95, then just cut and paste everything after productid= in the web address and it will bring up the phone at the £14.95 price (plus delivery) and then your Quidco should track.
If you were to order this afternoon they would deliver tomorrow.0 -
Thanks Road Hog
She won't leave it alone, keeps taking it to peices and putting it back together again to see if it works or not!! Apparently the 9 won't work and the 6 is a bit dodgy. She has a phone to be going on with as her boyfriend (yes, she has a boyfriend who is aged 83!!) has lent her his old one that is the size of a shoe!!
Ah, it's another world..........

Stella, your mum sounds a wonderful character. I'm not being sarcastic, by the way, I mean it in the nicest way possible :-)0

if it works but some of the buttons dont then it will most likley have some corrosion under the membrane. this would need carefully peeling back and cleaning. if you dont want to risk it then send it to me and ill sort it out for you0 -

If its just been in water take the covers off it and then leave it in an airing cupboard for a couple of days, if you haven't got an airing cupboard then use a hair dryer on it with no covers on it, its only really sugar that will destroy the circuit board.0 -
Try sticking it (with the battery and back cover removed) in the airing cupboard for a few days. Unfortunately in most cases if your phone's had a bath it won't work again, but depending on how long it's been wet for, you might get lucky and it'll spring back to life.
Good luck!0 -

its an LG u400, ive taken the back off and given it a good few blasts with my hairdryer but the screen is still misty so i will put it in the airing cupboard, should it still work ok ?
