Thanks for that post, They are reconditioned prices but still a good deal, haven't managed to get one as the best are out of stock, will keep trying tho and hope my phone dries out!0

Yes they are reconditioned prices, but they are not reconditioned phones.
I bought two Nokia 1112 phones for under £10 - including one Virgin payg sim with £3 credit on it. They are brand spanking new - (soon to be) discontinued models tho.
Worth buying if you only want a charger:beer:0 -
I dropped my phone in the toilet once when I was extremelly drunk(luckily I had flushed before I dropped it:D) and all I did was wrap it in a tea towel and leave on the radiator for a few days. It worked a treat! I know of others who have done this to which is why I gave it a try0

We had this with my sons Samsung when he dropped it in a lake.
Take off the back and remove the battery and sim card. Put it somewhere warm but not in direct heat ( the airing cupboard worked for us ).
Leave it there for 3 days or so, as long as you can, without attempting to switch it on or you may do more damage.
His was ok.
Good luck.True Friends Are Hard To Find, Harder To Leave And Impossible To Forget.0 -

A few days ago my hubby fell in a shallow river (dont ask!!!!).I dried his phone out and then recharged it.But its as dead as anything.I was wondering whether its worth getting a new battery to try or whether we should accept its fr the bin!Any help appreciated....0

How did you dry it out?
If you didn't let it dry naturally over a few days you'll no doubt have killed it applying a voltage using the charger.0 -
it's probably truly dead, I'm sorry to say. if dropped in water, then:
1. take the battery off
2. let it dry out thoroughly
3. take it to a repairer and tell them what happened.
do NOT put the battery back on or connect the charger because it needs to be dismantled, and properly cleaned with something lika IPA at board level (ideally in the equivalent of a gentle mini-jacuzzi!) to remove any contaminants, pockets of water, or dried-on shorts. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

I would wait a few more days - my nokia got soaked when it was in my pocket from a very very heavy downpour (I was wet through) - it took about 5 days to dry out last sept. but i have been using it ever since with no probs.
I didn't do anything with it, just sat in on the side on a shelf above the radiator.0
