  • answer to your question is no, I am not posting on behalf of BT.
In answer to your other questions i promote what BT offers and try to explain clearly what is available as you know BT do not advertise retention offers so i like to let consumers know.
The said offer was only intended for cable customer and officially still is as the offer is only reactive to non cable customers meaning they have to ask for it if not porting from virgin Bt advisors cant offer it to anyone.

I dont favor Bt in any way they are my employer and i like to share my knowledge to help others.

    sorry if this offends you

    I'm not "offended" at all.

Remember, this is an open forum! Anyone can post so always exercise caution when acting on info

But as previously stated, you do break the rules by not declaring your interest, you now do admit to promoting BT, about whom you do post assertively, (yet in some instances are clearly wrong), etc.

Now you have come clean by telling us that you don't have any authority from BT, and they wouldn't stand by anything you told us, we all know the correct score!
  • i tell consumers what Bt has to offer I have nothing to benefit from offering advice. The main reason i post on here is because im sick of dealing with calls from customers that are told incorrect information.
Im not going to get in to an arguement with you about this.
Im here to help and if you cant see this then thats your issue.
  • BT are about to offer a new retention deal . Bt broadband option 1 at £7.49 a month on a new 12 month contract.

I have if he doesn't - hope it last long enough for me to take advantage.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

How does it help customers when you post incorrect info (albeit to the benefit of your employer)?

eg. You repeatedly posted that the £30 special connection offer was only for cable customers wanting to change, when it would have been more helpful to have confirmed that it was in fact open to anyone as long as they asked for it.

And you attempted to stop us cancelling our broadband contracts over the detrimental change in conditions recently imposed (the increased cessation charge) even though the ts + cs did allow this without charge.

(Compare your input, saying cancellation not allowed, with the Madasafish/Plusnet Rep posting confirmation that the ts + cs did allow free cancellation over this issue for their companies when the question was asked in the maaf thread - Maaf/Plusnet both being BT companies with virtually identical ts + cs)

We all try to help each other - but when you post (supposedly to give us the benefit of your inside info) in an assertive manner, the least you could do is check the facts yourself, rather than just spout the company line you have been given by your employer designed to try and put customers off.
  • And you attempted to stop us cancelling our broadband contracts over the detrimental change in conditions recently imposed (the increased cessation charge) even though the ts + cs did allow this without charge.

I posted that you COULD cancel without charge up to 14 november. But stated that if you are not fussed over the changes and are happy with your contract why cancel?

The £30 connection charges is only for cable customers that is why BT are mailing cable customers only direct. But due to an unclear statements in the offer terms they have to give it to anyone else "if they ask for it"

I have no reason to promote BT in any way on this site as i gain nothing and do this to help others not myself.

    No.

    The thread is here:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1274799

It was started by a customer unhappy with the service from BT who was asking if the increase in the cessation charge would allow him to escape from his contract.

    You replied, wrongly telling him:
the changes do not affect your service or any part of you original agreement with BT.

    And I replied, correcting this:
You seem to be saying you can increase charges by any amount (this one is over 200%) and customers have to accept it.

This is not true, and covered by the ts + cs:

I go on to quote the relevant condition under which he could cancel.

If you want to further the discussion, please have the decency to not merely post untruths - I have given you chapter and verse on the misinformation you have posted, which you claim you do to "help others", even though anyone mistakenly following your "advice" would end up "helping" your employer! (By not applying for the £30 connection offer, and by not using the change in the cessation charge to escape from their bb contract if they wanted to)
  • OK, i think we've gone far enough on this now - its getting very broing!!

Either way, if you are going to take advice from forums you need to take many views and not just one, as it is a place for posts about opinions - not every opinion is correct for everyone.

People are not stupid and know what advice to take and what not to take on forums....

    over and out!
