Good luck Little Smurf. Bite the bullet and tell him, he might be angry at first but I'm sure things will be ok in the end xMortgage when started (Dec 2013): £157,272.50
Current mortgage (date): £156,885.56

Hi Littlesmurf.....'I' managed to put my husband and I in a lot of debt a few years ago through a few foolish 'whimsical' business ideas I had!! However, we soon realised that he is actually the bigger spender of the two of us so we're BOTH guilty of our debt......! IF your debt has been spent on purchasing too many shoes or you have overflowing wardrobes (which I'm sure your husband would have been wondering about by now anyway) or if you've gambled all your money away then I'm only assuming that you've purchased things a bit too eagerly for your family 'life' and convencience!!! I'm sure that the majority of us on this site have done exactly the same!! I can tell you for one that I have!! I have actually had to tell my husband to stop buying things without asking me first (didn't quite put it that way obviously) but I'm sure if you accept the blame but also emphasise the steps that you have already taken (which I have to say was much more than us when we had our Lightbulb Moment) then I am sure your husband's annoyance will be because you hadn't told him earlier!! This is the perfect time to tell him so that you can plan for holidays and Christmas in 2010 and beyond together....and remember...I'm sure your debts didn't happen overnight, so they won't be resolved that quickly. x x xJune 2012 Clydesdale Loan=[STRIKE]£12620[/STRIKE]£1246.47- (only 5 payments left but just received £3955 back from it for PPI!!!)0

The support and comfort off a partner is second to none. Come out of it fighting together and you will be so strong having been through so much. I told mine and she supports me like nothing else,i dont have a big debt but even though i have a big income for my age i cant spend accordingly and she understands. Soon when i sort everything out, get debt free and plenty of cash put away we can start doing stuff that we should be doing now.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Fingers crossed for you !
With hind-sight it does feel better with it out in the open ~ However the first 2-3 weeks were bloody hard for us both ~ I'm starting to get things sorted now, the DMP paperwork has started to turn up & I've just applied for a new bank account too ~ like so many other people say "We can do this together"
Good luck & keep us updated.0
