Seriously... how happy I have a spam phone number they call on with a blank "Hello... hello... hello...." message :rotfl:.
Strange how I never gave them permission to call me once... or every hour!
So glad I have left them... without ever joining them!0 -
My ISP is hoping to pick over Tiscali's bones-
"If any of your friends or family are with Tiscali for their broadband, they're in for a surprise early next year. Tiscali's new owners TalkTalk are increasing the price for Tiscali broadband by £5 a month for customers who don't take a TalkTalk phone line.
Here at XXXX we think that's pretty Scrooge-like, so we've put together a special deal for you and your friends and you can have a merrier Christmas on us. Recommend us and we'll send you £25 in John Lewis vouchers for each Tiscali customer who signs-up and migrates to XXXX on your recommendation*. Tell your friends to enter our special code XXXX when they register via this page and they'll get their first 3 months free too:"0 -
Which have taken this up with Talk Talk/Tiscali
TalkTalk have confirmed to Which that Tiscali customers who are unhappy with the changes will be free to break their contract if necessary and move to another provider.'

Can someone tell me what LLU means? I live in SW London and also have the same problem with TT - an aggressive female rang to tell me that my 18-months contract has ended and I must sign on to another similar period. Do all ISP providers insist on such lengthy contracts; and isn't it possible to continue on a month-by-month basis?
The woman rang off without giving me a chance to ask her name. I sent a complaint on their form and today I received an email which seems to suggest that I was making an enquiry about their service. It seems they did not notice that my email showed their address!
The trouble is that I can't afford to lose access to the internet through TT as I am due to go overseas (to India) at the end of January and will need to access my emails. Any suggestions on this issue? Someone mentioned G-mail - how does this work; perhaps I could back to the relevant page and find the link.
Any help most appreciated.0 -

I moved to Plusnet recently and I'm happy with the transfer and service. It's been good to me since I've moved... better than Tesc0 broadband. Just thought I'd mention it since someone mentioned here they weren't sure about them. At £5.99 I get a better service than when I paid £12.99 pm.
You can get three months free with Plusnet who've put together a special deal. An email I got today says - Tell your friends to enter our special code 'tiscali' when they register via this page and they'll get their first 3 months free too:http://www.plus.net/latest_offers
As an aside, if you use my Plusnet username when signing up I get a bonus - which would be much appreciated by me. If you want my name, please PM me. Hope it's OK to put this in... it feels really cheeky, but guess you can ignore this last bit! Can I ask that this be deleted by a mod if it's out of order, I really don't want to be kicked off this site.

Got the ball rolling Tuesday and Post Office is taking over as my phone & ISP on 8th January. I'm in a non LLU area & for £26 / month for unlimited internet, inclusive evening & weekend calls & line rental sure beats £11 something / month to BT on line rental, £15 soon to be £20 / month for a capped internet service plus call charges.
I phoned the cancellation number on the MAC request letter o give them cancellation notice & was told I just need to phone upon the final day of service, the 7th January & they will put the cancellation into place.
I queried this & took the guys name but he assured me they don't need notice. Can anyone confirm this???0 -
They restrict the speeds... click on link here.
The free 3 months offer is here.
Edit: I have just signed up (referrals always welcome if you sign up too, but you'd have to guess my username but you can guess that *ahem*)
Reason why I chose PlusNet Premium
80Gb monthly usage allowance(*restricted speeds) for radio/tv streaming services e.g. bbc's iplayer.
12am-8am free usage (full line speed) if I wish to be more intense with downloading e.g. CD/DVD images.
TalkTalk isn't going to take a penny off me no matter how often they phone spam me.
Tiscali - I'm just sorry to leave you what was an excellent service now taken over by an awful company who seem to have already affected by ADSL line speed!0 -
Similar issue here with Pipex.( owned by tiscali /TT).....after several years of no-nonense service ( bit slow sometimes ,evenings but that is common anyway ? ) I now have to take up the combined offer with phone or pay an additional £5 per month........ just looking at my options ....... pity I can't use the O2 offer ( I'm a mobile customer of theirs ) as exchange is not LLU0

Speak to O2 sales team, their service sounds better than PlusNet as it is less throttled/restrictive.
If you mention you will leave Tiscali/TalkTalk I'm sure they would match any offer going such as the current 3 months free broadband.
I went for PlusNet as they were advertising the best offer with less hassle of phoning around etc, and it suited my circumstances of being an internet user.0
