So what is the point of signing up for the 18 month contract if you still remain with Tiscali? Talktalk said the change is to align products so why is the tiscali deal not the same as TT essentials?

However it does seem there is little option when it comes to an alternative to Talktalk.

If u go back to BT u have a 12 month contract which means you can't get the best bundled deals anyway until the year is up.

Whats the best thing to do.....

I can not get the cheap deals on talk talk..............

My letter says " Throughout 2010 we're preparing to move you onto the TalkTalk next generation network."

Does this mean my line will get upgraded and I will get better than 512k broadband?
Google gives you answers use it.........
  • I've just received my talktalk letter today, 'offering' me local and weekend calls and up to 8mb broadband (really 2mb speed) for £18.48 compared with my existing package of weekend calls and 2mb broadband at £14 per month. Not a great bargain really - an additional £4pm for local calls which I normally make on my generous mobile allowance for free.

Not a great deal by any means.

  • seems the post office can offer me £25.50 per month which is the same as I pay Tiscali and BT.

May change just to get away from TalkTalk.

Ok logged in and looked at upgrades and cheapest way is to get broadband & phone for £23.23 which is still more as I pay Tiscali £9.99 and BT £10.50.

    The limit is 40gb, doh!!!

God I wish I found this thread a few months ago!

I rememebr getting a letter late last year from talk talk saying they'd taken over tiscali and that I "won't have to do a thing" (how nice!). Luckily for us we moved to the Sky tv bb calls landline etc bundle and we gave Sky our mac code as soon I had it - the same day I called to cancel. We had all the letters about cancellation and confirmation it'd be cut off on 15th unless we hadn't givent he mac code out then it'd last 31 days.
So on Dec 15th all my tiscali account services were cancelled - email access no internet, anything, which to me means its cancelled! - but they took the full january payment despite only still being connected to tiscali for 1 day (if that!). So 4 emails and 2 worthless hung up on / "we'll call you back" phone calls later, i'm still waiting on a reply from them.

Needless to say, i'm verrrrrrrrrrry glad i moved when I did, feel like I got out right on time after being with them for 8 years (at the end I was on the £14.99 bb price which is totally acceptable I think, any higher and there's no way i'd have stuck around, especially with their pants customer service!).

Lets hope we all get results!

  • Found Virgin for £18 per month with 40gb limit & line rental.

There is a £35 connection fee but you get the 1st 2 months rental free which pays for it.

Can get unlimited for £24 month.
