  • Does any one know how these people get my telephone number.

I am being chased by Roxborough recovery, they have called my mobile and tried to get me to argue with them, they have called my home phone and told my wife they will keep calling till they get hold of me.
Both my home and mobile at X Directory, they said they used a tracing agency. I'm in two minds to go and see how brave they are if i'm standing facing them.

    Is this their standard practice?

DVLA, if you filled it in on the v5 doc.

[Why anyone would do this is beyond me...but hey.]

You can write and tell the scum debt chasers that all comms must be in writing; someone will be along soon with the profroma.

They will give up soon enough. If they call again . Tell them you will only speak to a real solicitor!. That will fox them.

The easiest way to get rid of them if you answer the phone them is to tell them that you expressly 'deny the debt' and that now you have denied the debt you would consider any further contact harassment and as such would contact the relevant authorities and also your local trading standards and the OFT. They should pass the file back to their client for them to decide on further action and not contact you again.

Another top tip is to actually ask them to hold on a second and then start the recording facility on your mobile and tell them you are now recording the call or, just fiddle with your phone to make it sound like you have turned it on and tell them you are recording the call... you don't then usually have to bother with saying anything, as the monkey usually put the phone down and they don't call again!
  • My car was parked at Sheffield Centretainment a while ago and ignored the mail they were sending me about parking outside the lines. I now have a solicitor letter saying that they will litigate in 14 days, I presume I'm still good to ignore?

    Kind

    OMG...you're in such trouble.

If you read the advice you'll see that as soon as you get a letter saying "will litigate in 14 days' the game is up.

Surely you found the thousands of posts explaining this???

I know there are 15,000+ posts saying ignore everything always, but your case is obviously different.

£10 on the solicitor's being Graham White?

If so don't worry their office staff can only count to ten, then they run out of fingers! Somehow the 14 days never arrive!

Pedant warning! 8 fingers two thumbs!:p
