Hi I wonder if any one can help me.
I was in Middlesbrough Lesuire Park today to visit my local Cineworld, there is parking avaible by Excel Parking with a 4 hours free car park for Cinema customers in the blue zone areas.
I parked in the blue zone area at 9.55 with the parking attentants stood oppiosite me, they watched me get out the car and walked away to the direaction of the Cinema.
I went back to the car at 13.00 to move the car to an area where you have to pay when I found the parking charge asking for the £60 fine.
They put the charge on the car at 10.09 when the car hadn't even been there for half an hour when I was entilled to stay there till 14.00.
I am going to appeal against this with photo evidance and proof of been in the Cinema with my receipts.
Can anyone else help with what I should do
Thanks Lindsey0 -
Why bother, keep the tickets and file them with all the rest of the junk you get from them. You will not succeed with an appeal so don't even bother trying, save the cost of the stamp.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Enough said, the fact it's a private parking co is all we need to know. IGNORE THEM.Lindsey_1992 wrote: »I am going to appeal against this with photo evidance and proof of been in the Cinema with my receipts.

No. Please tell me you are not about to send any receipts or appeal anywhere, surely you are not going to waste your time and money? Do you reply to phishing emails as well that tell you that you've won the Nigerian Lottery?
It's not a fine, ignore it. But you need to do a bit of reading to be ready for the scary letters, which you also file in a drawer marked 'ignore, scam'!
Here's the first page of the current forum posts, almost all about private parking co's (known as PPCs to us). Did you realise how much current info is here on MSE on every subject, there's a whole new page of 'PPC scam' posts every single day. It's not just this thread on the subject! :

Read the permanent sticky thread 'PPC letters' at the top, for your preview of the rubbish they will send to the registered keeper. And read 'welcome, please read before posting' (LOL!) to see the advice and to click on the must-see Watchdog link. Then just choose any other lower down threads at random, read any which are not about real Council PCNs.
You will soon understand why this is no 'parking ticket'. :mad:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Allow me to guess your "crime", you didn't go straight to the Cinema and instead stopped off at another shop before visiting the Cinema.
I believe that "crime" carries a punishment of receiving free loo paper in the mail :rotfl:
One thing you can do is complain to the shops on the retail park saying that thanks to harassment of a paying customer by a 3rd party contractor you shall be shopping at *name local competitor* from now on and telling your friends and family to do the same.0 -

You replied too soon, sorry but you can't possibly have read any threads on the link I gave you. Read them please and show your Dad the Watchdog clip and other info you find.
Watchdog will convince Dad, I am sure. With respect, DAD IS WRONG, he is believing a scam (sorry Dad but you nearly fell for a con). 'PCN' are just initials, it's part of the scam to copy Council tickets to persuade the stupid or the uninformed to pay up like sheep. Don't be victims!
A real PCN is called a penalty charge notice (note that a fake one like yours is a parking charge notice).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
