When my OH says 'lets go out for a meal' I say 'do i need my wallet'!!!! Not every time but if it is his suggestion I assume he is paying as he suggested it but if we are out and decide to go out for a bite we split it but if I say 'letsgo out' then I am prepared to pay the whole bill. Works for us.
To be honest I would just forget the whole jewellery thing. This close to Christmas and he has children he may well be needing the money for that.0 -
If we're confused, think about how he feels - and no - not every girl secretly wants something sparkly on our 30th - or any other birthday. So you can't use that as an excuse to say he should know.
So you be happy if the on your 3oth if he gave you flowers with 3.99 on the tag still and promised to buy some sparkle then not materialise?0 -
You went out for a meal together which is a nice birthday treat......but you chose to pay half.
A meal out for my birthday this year was my present as I didn't want anything else. Sure not my 30th but then I dont hold attachment to 'milestones' like other people do.....just another year gone by.0 -

No, that's not the point; he offered you something and you said no. He then said he was going to get you something else and you said no a few times. Why can't you just say 'that would be lovely dear, can't wait'?0 -
By the tone of your replies you obviously are still egging after the sparkly thing so go and ask him if it matters that much to you!!
Yes he is showing a lack of interest on his part.
Does he treat you at other times/buy you things off the cuff?0 -
