Hi dogwalker,
Sorry to hear that you are feeling rubbish.... :grouphug:
I would totally agree with cc- don't push yourself too much, it is sometimes just what you need to grieve for a bit.
With regards college courses/clubs I joined one last year (Sign Language) as it has been a long standing interest and I now go to the local Deaf Club to socialise and practice. I didn't want to meet a partner, just meet some people and stop my social skills from rotting due to lack of use!! lol. However, I was really interested in the course subject so found it a different and enjoyable activity- with the bonus being new people to talk to. As that was only the bonus, I didn't find it as scary as I thought I would.
but, back to what cc said- I'd just focus on yourself first and give yourself some time.... and maybe some ben and jerrys (phish food does it for me when I'm feeling low)
xVery excited to be marrying my partner in crime for the last 7 years in September 2012 :jNo longer a midlandsfairy... back living in the sunny south!0 -

Hi folks, the myspace pages are looking good.:D
cc you are how I imagined you.:D
dogwalker dont rush anything, if you have read much of this thread you will know that I split with my husband 'it' over a year ago now. It gets easier but it takes time. (looks like lots of it)
Had a snog in the pub Friday and it didnt do anything for me. yet I know 'it' would only have to touch me and I would melt.
On holiday this week and have gone on strike at home. The kids are taking the mick so have said I'm not doing anything.
Valentines day tomorrow. No romantic gestures for me.
Heres a valentines for us all. :smileyhea:kisses::happylove

Hi all and Happy Valentines Day to you all! (Really know it will be tough for many).:lovethoug
Massive hug to Dogwalker (my dog would love a walk -he just gets chased around the yard at the stables at the moment) it is a horrible time for you and we are all here.
Thanks ZC all is calmish around here. Just not very nice. But my nutty class keep me smiling. Am teaching them to lift one eyebrow. Is this appropriate for 5 and 6 year olds? Just makes me laugh.
Take care all,

I'm going though a divorce at the moment. When I split with my husband it made me realise that I'd spent so much energy bringing up three children that I had lost touch with all my friends. Now I have two really close friends and one or two mums at the school. I still find myself at home with the kids alot of the time. The evenings are the worst when they've gone to bed and I'm on my own. My ex on the other hand is enjoying the single life with his girlfriend (who he had an affair with) going down the gym and out almost every night with his new friends. I have to say I'm a little envious. But I wouldn't have it anyother way now looking back on my life with him toward the end of the marriage when it got bad. My life is better now I've just got to make the effort and try and meet new people SCARY!!!!!0

Welcome jowmonty.
Glad to hear your life is better now. Just goes to show that we do recover from these things. Spring is on the way, dust yourself off and get out there.... join a few online groups if you are at home with the kids and arrange coffee mornings when the kids are at school. Most people are too scared to admit they would like more friends. BE the brave one xLast bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -

Valentine's Day doesn't actually bother me, being single. I'm quite content on my own really. Just now and again I think I'd like to be with someone.
Got two cards - one from an ex I finished with a year and a half ago and it seems the "stay friends" thing isn't really working - I'm not interested in him at all. The other from my mate who is on holiday this week and leaving me in the office on my own. That was a nice one to get lol
