mclaren, you get back to the drs at once and write down how you feel for him to read, you are not a failure, your pics were beautiful ad we enjoyed seeing them

i will want to hear you have made an appt when i am on here again

    big hugs to you
  • I second what Twink said. Your pics are amazing, you are certainly not a failure there!

You go and see the Doctor, you have classic symptoms of depression, how can he think you are moaning?

  • McL,

I know how you are feeling, and I know that nothing we say will make you feel any better, least of all people telling you to "pull yourself together" and that feeling the way you do isn't going to help your situation. (I know none of us would do that btw!). All I can do is tell you that I have been where you are and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) really really helped me.

If you want to talk pm me, or if you want more details about the therapy. It is not a cure, I still have bad days - one of them is today! But I manage them much better than before.

    Thinking of you,

    dj

edited to add: If I look back on the diaries I kept during the bad times, your post could quote them word for word.

sorry bout ma outburst - i just didnt know wha ti was doing.

dont know what it is but when i am like that, my mind stops and something else takes over....

tbh, i dont like to go to docs and moan - as i think i am being very selfish. i am thinking about me when there are other people in the world who suffer.

as for failing - i fail at everything i try.

from loosing weight to saving up money - i fail.

i think the only thing i have some skill in is photography but even then the shots are average.

morning mclaren, you are as important as anyone, of course you feel as if you are failing at everything, that is why you need to go to the dr, he wont feel you are wasting his time, that is why i said to write a list of how you feel and hand it to him to read, make going to the dr the first step to the new you, what i have done is to buy a white board to write everything down that needs to be donethen when i score something out as i do it, it gives me a sense of achievement, hugs to you from me
  • :j Gosh its quiet here today.

Well things are moving on here. Mum and I found a house that we just have to have, even though its at the very top end of our budget (and thats a scary price!). We have had an offer accepted subject to a 28 day completion (They are emigrating, have lost one buyer and are accepting a low offer). This means Mum liquidising every investment she has, me getting a buy to let mortgage on my house and a new mortgage on the new house and Mum can then sell her house later on. Very scary as we will end up with no spare cash (no more trips on the QE2!!).:T

Really excited, hope nothing goes wrong, need to get financial settlement sorted out with ex ASAP.

Anyone interested in seeing the house its on rightmove.co.uk - search on Rettendon and its the 4th one down with the annexe and the description is in capital letters. Don't want to post the link directly.

  • Kathryn,

it is absolutely gorgeous!! Love the garden room - we have something similar at our house and I practically live in there, looking out at the view and watching the birds. I don't want to congratulate you yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Glad you have found somehwere suitable so quickly... hope the finances work out OK.

McL - how are you feeling today? Thinking of you ...

Off to do some more work on the dissertation, have had a bad couple of days at it. The MOT ended up costing £212!! Eeeek! Am really overdrawn and won't be getting paid until the end of October, so that got me a bit down and I couldn't really concentrate. :( I feel a bit better today, so fingers crossed for better progress.

    See you all later xx

Oh mclaren I really feel for you - I know everyone says it but I really do know where you are coming from.I was at my very lowest when I started this thread. I went to the docs and I was given anti depressants and I took a few and they gave em a little lift (made me poorly too) and made me determined to get off them.I also went to a shrink and I found that it did help talking to someone who was completely impartial and had no knowledge of me.This is why this thread is great. There are so many people who don't judge but truly listen - we should have won the post of the month don't you think!
I agree with the list idea.I write a list of to do's and at times it can be long (don't get overwhelmed) but every time you cross something out feel that sense of achievement and see the positive.
Actually that is hard to do by yourself, so why not tell us the thing you have achieved because when you are low it is blooming hard to see the positive yourself.
Take care of yourself, try to ignore the rubbish weather that does not help eh?
Please know that we are here for you. I know I have not been on as much as I used to but there are so many new 'faces' I do still read as much as I can though.
    wb xx

kp the house looks fab good luck
  • Good evening everyone.
Hope you're all well and some are feeling better. MC - I love your photos. Keep them up.

I've had a very pleasant day. Got of my rear end early for once and went along to a rare breeds sale. They were selling all livestock, but I went for the chickens.

What alot of different chickens they had for sale. I was just going along for a look, but I did take a box with me.
So I took the plunge and bought three more chickens, so our chicken family is now five.
    Here's a couple of pickies

Garbo - one of our Barnevelders, lovely feathers!

    two of our new Silkies.

    smallsilkies.jpg

haven't got names yet. They are so fluffy, that they need fluffy names.

So we got them home and deposited them in the garden with our other two girls. Greta and Garbo were very interested with Greta doing a little chasing, bad girl, but no pecking.
We left them wandering around and put together a temporary coup. When we finished, put all five chicken in the run with the old coup at one end and the new one at the other.
Just went out to put them all to bed and guess what?......Yup all five chickens are snuggled up together in our original coup!!!
Ah well I'm very happy that they're getting on well together.

I'm definitely becoming a mad chicken lady. OH is relieved that I didn't win the bid on the quails.:D
