Hi all
How are you all?
soz i aint bin roundi havent been well recently
MC, i understand how you are feeling, how is it always us creative people that get depressed??
i had a relapse this week, and so totally understand how you must be feeling at the moment.
and people can say that they know how you feel but it is only you that can do something about it.
i dont think you are a failure, by the way, you are extremely talented in your photography, and i bet there are other things you are good at and enjoy too.
keep these things up as it is clear that your photography keeps you going, as it does me.
the doc wont think your selfish, and you do have the right to go see one, he will understand.
but can understand you thinking you are selfish, i thought this too, until i got to a point where i was sverely ill due to my depression, and then i didnt have a choice in the matter, i have seen councellors on and off for 4 years, and all i can say, is go once, and see if it helps, sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesnt, it truely depends what kind of person you are.
has anything happened to make you have these feelings? or has it built up for a while?
when you feel down try and think of something that makes you smile, mine is my dog. your might be a place or a photograph, etc....
we are all here if you need a chat, and you can pm me anytime if you need some advice or help.

Interesting article from todays Sunday Herald magazine - good to know that I am not the only male out there in this situation and good to see an article that points out that men have a biological clock too. I could really identify with some of the comments in the article, for example the freelance guy not speaking to anyone for days apart from the supermarket checkout person (which is why I hate it when they steer you towards those awful self service machines at Tesco -one of the reasons I avoid them and use local shops now) and also the comment about getting a hug and needing physical contact (in a non-sexual way too) and the "imaginary picture of his ideal life" in the country with farmhouse, animals, kids and partner - I thought hey that's my dream too!
"Lonely white male
If you thought it was only women who worried about their biological clocks, think again. Today men are the ones panicking about being left on the shelf and missing out on the patter of tiny feet; where once they were toxic bachelors, now, it seems, they’re just tormented........."
You can read the article in full online:
http://www.sundayherald.com/57673"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."
