finally got the course sorted out, Computer technology at the open university woooooooooo

start at the end of september then do another course and get my first certificate in june 07 and start sector 2 of the training then for software development

Hi all

My DS did fabulously with 2 A's, 4 B's, 2 D's and 1 F! but at least he passed all the important ones and we are all thrilled. He is now on his way to the 6th form college to carry on with his A levels

Thanks Twink ~ cars just seem to be a continuous drain on our resources hope you get it all sorted out.

Good for you Mc ~ I keep thinking about going back and doing further study. Not an option at the moment though.

Glad DS did so well Philippa.

I had to deal with some very upset kids today, they should not have got D's for ICT. I've looked at the moderators comments in conjunction with the sample and several of the comments make no sense, some contradict others and some are just plain wrong (like "there was no evidence of a and b in the majority of the sample" - Checked the sample and evidence of A & B was indexed, titled and clearly present in all but 1 of the sample - the last 1 without it has 0 marks from me!!!) I have passed my comments on to our management team and we are going to get these re-moderated.

Every child lost at least 1 grade because of this moderation. I've been running this course for 3 years now, my marking has not changed, I am well known as a tough marker and I refuse to believe that this years coursework was worse than last years - I've taken last years comments into consideration and passed them on to the kids and got them to improve work over and over. This course is 66% coursework so its all important! Management will back me to the hilt on this one. The exam marks were great - kids could re-work and resubmit coursework in year 12 without having to sit the exam again as its a modular course but they shouldn't have to as for many of them there are no improvements needed.

On a personal not, off to IOW tomorrow, with OH when I get back Monday I will have made a decision about whether its divorce or not. Sad when we both love each other but I sure can't live with him any more.

Away for the weekend camping and off roading. Should be great fun so long as it dries out a bit.:D

lots of good news today - car passed the MOT! Woooo!!!! :j :j :j Does need new tyres ASAP though, but at least I have a chance to save up for those.

Also have really got ripping into dissertation.. feeling pretty positive all round. Congrats to your DS Phillippa! How are you celebrating?

twink - cars are a nightmare eh? My mum and dad's has been no end of trouble.
