We checked what we would get from our local jewellers and compared this with what Hatton Garden Metals (HGM) would give us. HGM's valuation was about 25% higher. On the recommendation from MSE.com we decided to risk posting our gold and silver jewelry to HGM. We photographed all the items (just in case), completed the on-line forms using the approximate weights given to us by our local jeweller and sent it off by Special Delivery.

It arrived at HGM the following morning, they immediately e-mailed to confirm safe recipt and advised the exact weights of each metal category. I felt we could completely trust their weights because they tallied very closely with those we had given and in one case they increased the weight in our favour. Once I had authorised the weights online they made the money transfer by Faster Payment.

In summary we received a very competitive price and had the money in our bank account within 28 hours of mailing the jewelry to HGM!! Absolutely fantastic service!!

This has been interesting reading. Most of my jewellery is white gold, do they accept that? I couldn't find if they do on their website, unless I'm being a bit daft!

I used Hatton Garden Metals (HGM) to convert some scrap gold to cash and the service and price was fantastic. Before using them I tried 2 local high street companies, however they both said they would need to send the gold away before they could pay out. I then searched MSE for advice and opted for HGM. Posted goods at 2pm (special delivery) and cash was in my account before 12 the next day. Price was as per my on-line estimate - they even rounded the weight up slightly. Compared to Ramsdens the price from HGM was 50% higher ( than Ramsdens' first offer - although they did increase this by 20% after l said no.)

Will definately use again.

Shop around and don't accept the first offer !!

I am a genuine first time user of hatton garden metals.i wanted to make a bit of cash for spending money for my up coming holiday.so sorted through my jewellery box for gold and silver that i no longer wore.i was just so scared as to which company i sent it too as have heard and read so many scam stories and my local jewellers werent offering a good price.i searched the internet and found very good reviews on hatton garden gold metals.i liked the fact i could weigh my items and fill in the weight in the online form.i didnt use very accurate scales so was slightly out on my weight which i knew i would be,but only by a gram.i told them i thought 1 pair of earrings i sent was maybe more than 9ct gold,and they truthfully told me they were 14ct gold!(cant see many companies being that honest!!!!).
anyway i posted my items of yesterday at 4.30pm special delivery.i got an email this morning saying that my weights were slightly different so could i authorise the correct weights which i did.i then got an email back very quickly telling me that my items were worth £256!!!i just couldnt believe it.then i checked my bank and the money had been transferred straight in free of charge(1 company i looked at charged£15 to do that!!!).
I am just so glad used them as i am such a worrier and was really panicking!i can now rest and look forward to some sunshine!
I WILL BE RECOMMENDING THIS COMPANY TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY FOR SURE!!!!
Dont hesitate on using them they are just amazing!

I couldnt find that to but i sent my white gold along with my other gold and got money for it!:beer:

After reading recommendations on MSE forum.I sold today to Hatton Garden Metals ,2 rings 18ct, 1 bracelet 9ct, 1watch 9ct,1pair of earings, All done & dusted in 1 day excellent turn around.Very proffessional company,Transparent too,I received £526 today & i was very happy thank you. :T:)

I used this firm with some trepidation as you have to post your gold to them rather than hand it in, but just look at the price that local shops give you - rubbish! I took my parcel to the post office Tuesday lunchtime and the cashier advised me I could track my parcel after 2.30 the next day. So Wednesday I went to the PO website to track it at 3pm - it said it was processing it! I worried it had gone missing - when I tracked it on the Hatton Garden website they had paid it into my account at 1.21 that day. Brilliant!
The website is easy to use. I just weighed the gold I had on my kitchen scales and entered it into the calculator. They make the process easy to follow. I printed off the form and put it in the envelope. I got back exactly the estimate that I had calculated.
I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a good price for their old gold.:j

After following the advice and feedback from this thread yesterday I took it upon myself to send off my gold chain to Hatton Garden Metals, when I opened their webpage I was quoted 250 pounds for my 22g 9ct gold chain. So I sent off my chain the same day special delivery (£5.90) insured up to £500. I then followed the tracking on the royal mail website today to check where it is and it had been delivered before 12 oclock. I immediately checked my bank account after confirming the delivery and the money was there in minuites. Along with an email of confirmation that my chain was infact 0.2g heavier than I had weighed it as, so therefore got more money than I expected strait away. Very pleased with the website, and would recommend to anybody wishing to sell their gold. Excellent service :j

Sent off 9g (according to my scales) of rubbish gold on Friday by Special delivery, guaranteed for delivery today and was quoted £102. Had an email by 11.30am this morning to say that £99 had already been paid via Paypal (I have checked and the money is there). The slight difference in price was because apparantly the gold was a fraction lighter than my scales said. Am surprised at how easy and quick the whole process and am really pleased.

Sent off a mixture of gold and silver on Saturday. Received today, processed and paid before 12 o'clock!
Got a little less than quoted because some of the silver wasn't!!
Weight of the gold a little down on my calculations and the price of gold dropped today.
All in all a fantastic service and I'm very happy!
