I sent 15g of 9ct gold yesterday & received £176 this afternoon, a pound less than yesterday's quoted price due to the gold fix dropping slightly. No fuss, no complaints. Recommended.
Followed the link from HGM's remittance email to post here, which I was more than happy to do. I'm not connected with them in any way & only used them after reading the positive feedback here.0 -
I posted my 9 carat gold chain off to HGM yesterday and the money was in my account the today and slightly than they had offered. Brilliant service. Highly recommended.0

After finding some old unused and broken jewelry I looked on the moneysaving website for advice and found the link for Hatton Garden Metals. After reading all the positive reviews I sent off 1 ring to check out the service. They received the ring the next day and the money was in my account that afternoon. I will be using this company again and will be recommending them to everyone.0

After reading the feedback on here I decided to use Hatton Garden Metals.
I filled in the details on Monday morning and posted the jewellery off, the money was in my account Tuesday morning. Brilliant. I was very happy with the price and got a lot more than I'd expected being that it was mostly silver jewellery.
Would definately recommend Hatton Garden Metals.Biggest win: £10,000 from PepsiFavourite win: Handmade jewellery worth £1000ITV Winners Club Member #1Check out the ITV Winners Club in IWIWIWI shall write in ever decreasing circles until I have nothing left to say0 -
When did you use it: 3/4/12
What did you send it: Old 24 carrat gold ring (very light unfortunately)
How much did it promise you: £70
How much did it deliver: £70.59
How efficient was the service: Brilliant and quick
I got this valued locally first and was told around £70. The only thing I lost out on is the fact that it was £6 to post insured.
Very swift service.0 -
Hello,
Apologies if I am posting on the wrong thread.
However I have a quick question regarding the HGM service before I post off some of my old/unwanted gold.
If the price offered when they actually receive the gold is considerably less then the quote, can I ask to have the gold returned?0 -
I used HGM a year ago and would have had no hesitation in highly recommending them. I was so pleased I decided to do another transaction last October and offered to send some of my sister's gold in the same parcel. I weighed it precisely and although unsure of some of the value as it was unmarked, I sent it off all together ( most of it was 9ct). HGM state that if you don't know the carat they will assess it for you.
I trusted HGM and they paid me promptly for an amount of 9ct gold. Turns out after the event that my sister knew her gold was unmarked 18ct French gold, so lost out to the tune of 50% of the value of her gold. I have no way of proving this but feel deceived and cheated. My advice is to use only if you have some idea of the value of your gold.0 -
Well, I read all the posts here and decided to take the plunge. Sent my gold off special delivery on Friday. It was delivered to HGM this am and I had an e-mail to say I was £221 better off by this pm. Thumbs up from me.0

Very similar to Gingachick, I read all the posts about HGM before checking their site to calculate a price for some old gold that I had lying about. A local jeweller I often use offered me £240 (which I was pleased with; although when I calculated on HGM, it said £293. I sent the gold off special delivery on Friday, and received an email by 1pm yesterday (Monday) and received £297!!! So I got more money than I expected & way more than the local jewellers!! Also, most of the other sites I looked at charge to transfer the money to you but HGM don't. I will and have recommended to everyone I know - VERY IMPRESSED!! Thankyou:T0 -
I was incredibly concerned about sending off my sovereigns that had been left to me..... okay, so the postage went up on Monday, so it cost a bit more to send them... but I shouldn't have been worried.
I sent them Monday, and money was in my account on Tuesday mid-afternoon! Very easy transaction, and the valuation was ALOT more than being offered at local jewellers or coin shops!
So pleased I saw their information on here.... would definitely recommend! :TLBM - March 2007
