HATTON GARDEN METALS Feedback Thread

I sold a gold watch with Hatton last year. I received about 20% more than a local jewellers where I usually purchase jewellery so very pleased with them.
I now have another watch to sell. The local jewellers have offered about £600.
They have said it has about 45g of gold in it (9ct) which HGM would give about £550 for. The watch also has 32 small diamonds (Beuche Girod watch).
Any thoughts about how I could sell the diamonds separately?
I have asked a watch dealer but their response (and the local jewellers response) was that the watch isn't sellable as a watch. The value is in the gold/ diamonds.0 -
My girlfriend and I had a couple of curb chains we bought for each other about 7 years ago. We only came across them after having a clear out and couldn't believe we had forgotten about them all these years. I compared lots of gold buyers online and found Hatton Garden Metals to be very competitive but the undercover report from Moneysavingexpert gave me the confidence to try them over everyone else. I did however get a quote from a high street store who offered £280 for 31.04 grams of 9ct (375) gold - Hatton Garden paid me £380! I sent the gold special delivery at 5pm last night and the money was paid into my account at about 1 o'clock today. My kitchen scales said 32 grams so don;t worry if the weighting is a little out. This has been a very impressive transaction and I am very pleased I chose Hatton Garden Metals - thank you to them for being such a great company and thanks to Moneysavingexpert for the report. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. After reading positive comments on HGM, today by special delivery I sent 55g of gold (i put 9ct as I wasn't sure what ct is was) and 52g of silver if all of this is present and correct I have been quoted £700!! I must say this sounds too good to be true!
I'll let you know how I get on.....hopefully tomorrow.
P.S. this is my first time on the forum.:j0 -
Having a turn out off all the cupboards and found the small bag of odds and ends of broken jewellery that has been kicking about for ages - put the details into the HGM website, having found this thread yesterday, and it could be worth just over £500 :j:j
Off to the Post Office tomorrow - looking forward to finding out how much it is worth .... but any ££s achieved will be going straight into our pot to overpay our mortgage.
Not bad for what I thought was a bag of junk!!!0 -
I have sent lots of different denominations of different cts of gold. Some was not hallmarked as bought in the Middle East so will be interesting to see what comes back... Will feedback here when I know.0

Wow - I am very happy indeed -
Posted my gold yesterday lunchtime and by half 11 this morning I had an email to verify the weight etc and £503 is being transferred into my bank account!!!
Excellent service and I'm very happy to be getting £500 in the bank instead of a bag of junk in a drawer at home!!!!0 -
Having read a article on this site about Hatton Garden Metals, I decided to raid my jewellery box...not knowing what ct the gold was I visited by local Ramsden's...first offer was £150 upped to £220 then to £350 as they decided a bracelet I had included was "saleable". Not convinced of their method I went online and entered the weight of my gold on Hatton Garden website. The instant quote was £518, the gold was mailed to them on Saturday by Special Delivery and £520 deposited in my bank account on Tuesday. Would recommend and definately use them again. I was very impressed and a lot better off!:rotfl:0

Well to follow on from yesterdays post, I have been made an offer of £1821... I can't believe it, the only discrepancies they had was one necklace I sent wasn't gold, and another ring that was 24 ct but not hallmarked, apparently they will only accept this as 20ct as it isn't uk hallmarked but I am fine with that it only weighed 2 grams...
Its fallen at a good time, my car needs a serious service and mot so hopefully I will still have some left over to treat my girls and perhaps myself...
Special delivery cost just over £8 insured up to £2000... well worth it I think.0 -
I was scared to send gold through the post, but read the reviews, and all i can say was wow. I sent the gold on the 18th Jan, about 11.40am. And on the 19th Jan, i received a e-mail to let me know it had arrived, then another e-mail to let me know what i was getting, and about 11.38am, less than 24 hours it was in my account. I got £558.75, which was about £7 more than i was offered as the gold had gone up. You get a price, and a number code, and if the price drops before the gold arrives, you still get that price. But if it go's up, then you get that price. I looked at others, but Hatton and Lois came out tops. Dont sell to Ramsden, they were giving me £100 less, rip off.0
