  • OK, I was little unsure using this type of service but from all the post on here I thought I might as well give it a go.
So my wife and I sorted through all the old jewellery that we had (broken chains and rings), weighed it and sent to HGM. Next day I received an e-mail saying that £629 was going to be put into your account today. I couldn't believe it and within hours there it was, in my account. I have now recommended them to a friend and my mum.
  • I have been looking at the gold price and all of the sites that buy gold for about 6 months and did not know who to use due to the horror stories. I saw the recommendation by this site and decided to try it. I sent 26 grams of 9 carat gold and 22.1 grams of 18 carat yesterday. I checked their site this morning and noted that they had received it but there was no price as it goes by the gold fix price the day it is processed. The amounts went up from £10.05 and £20.09 respectively from yesterday to £10.19 and £20.38 which is the level they set the payment at. They did say that there was only 25.5 grams and 22 grams but I am not going to argue about points of a gram. They sent me an email within one hour of the gold fix stating the amount and then the money was in my bank account within another hour. I received £708 plus some pence for a few bits that were just sitting in a draw so I am really happy. I used because of the recommendation of this site and would recommend them myself any time. BRILLIANT, EFFICIENT AND HONEST! Only wish I had more to sell lol.
If you send by Special Delivery then do not worry if it is over £500 as the post office give you a chance to get more insurance which saved me sending two envelopes and saved about £4.:T:j
  • Just used HGM. I sold several thousand pounds worth of Gold. HGM gave me 30% more than the best local jeweler could offer. Max insurance I could get on special delivery was £2500, so I sent in two batches. Communication and payment from HGM was great. From posting to funds in my account took less than 48hours.

    RECOMMENDED!:j
  • :jVery Pleased. Used Hatton Garden Metals this week. I weighed the gold on my dodgy kitchen scales and guessed it at 40g of 9ct gold. Just got £413 for 43g of old broken gold that I would never have worn again. Sent it on Monday & I have a cheque through the door today. Really speedy service.

I used HGM for the first time after researching the market on the InterWeb and after reading the report and feedback on this site.

    I give them a 100% endorsement!

    • When did you use it -Yesterday afternoon by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
    • What did you send it - Mixed bag of 9ct, 18ct and 22ct gold pieces.
    • How much did it promise you - £524.36 was the quotation amount.
    • How much did it deliver - £518.91.
    • How efficient was the service - Could not have been better!
    • If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason - The slight difference due to small deviations in weight (my scales are not calibrated) and price per gram.
    • Anything else other people should know - I posted the items yesterday afternoon, I was kept up to date by email throughout process by HGM, money received in bank account before noon today, excellent no hassle service. The HGM price for 9ct was £10.24 per gram, my local goldsmith only offered only £7.05 per gram, go figure!
  • have used hatton garden metals this weekend and have been amazed by the standard of service!
    much recommended!

I have to agree, My partner sent in around (1 ounce by our dodgy old scales) of scrap broken bit's and pieces and received exactly # £241.35 == GOLD 9ct: 23.60 @ £10.23 = £241.35

Very easily transferred and a very fast service.

    • When did you use it December 2010
    • What did you send it old rings, necklaces and earrings (23.60g)
    • How much did it promise you £286.35 for 28g
    • How much did it deliver £241.35 for 23.60g
    • How efficient was the service Brilliant! Money sent next working day
    • If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason My scales are ancient :D I got the amount wrong.
    • Anything else other people should know

  • :j Can not believe it. Only posted the gold yesterday at 12.41 by special delivery. The post master said it should be delivered by 1pm today but can't guarantee that with severe weather conditions. The money was in my bank by 11.47am this morning. I weighed the gold on my kitchen scales & estimated 25g of 9ct gold & 3g of 22ct gold coming to approx £330. The 9ct gold was 24.80g so just under my estimation. I received £328.63 for which i am over the moon. Couldn't have come at a better time. it was all jewellery i never wear & have had for years. Some was even broken. I would DEFINITELY recommend Hatton Garden metals. I shall certainly use them again.
  • Decided to finally do a spring clean and get rid of some gold jewellery (mostly broken/ bashed up) made up of 4 rings, 4 bracelets, an earring and 2 chains). I found this site on Google and got a quote for £604 on 1st Dec. Checked high street offers at the Money Shop and Pickwick Pawnbrokers but the best they could manage was £410!! Posted the jewellery off by special delivery on 2nd Dec. Got an email on 3rd Dec in the morning confirming the correct weight (my cooking weighing scales couldn't decide on the weight so I was off by a gram) and what I would be paid. I ended up with £595 within 2 hours of getting the email message. Very pleased to have chosen HGM, Very fast, efficient and clear with information not to mention offering the best value. You know exactly what to expect and they know exactly what to do. Recommending them to all my mates!! :j
