When did you use it 24th June (Royal Mail failed to deliver my parcel in time so it was only sorted out today)
What did you send it Rings, necklaces, broken jewellery
How much did it promise you £450ish (i think)
How much did it deliver £481.51
How efficient was the service Absolutely fantastic, could not fault them at all.
If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason My items weighed slightly more than i had weighed them at, hence i got more.
Anything else other people should know Use them they will not let you down.0 -
Hi all
I have been researching gold prices all evening and through google found Hatton Garden and cash4mygold.co.uk both giving good prices but cash4 was a bit better than hgm.The hgm site led me to herethro a link . Is there a thread with a fairer view that looks at other gold buyers too as this has because of the link a one company view only all good it seems.
Can someone who knows about selling gold please look at the cash4mygold.co.uk site and are there any others .
Thanks

Hatton Garden metals do put a link to this thread in their remittance, asking for you to leave feedback. I see nothing wrong with this, as they have no way to know who will be satisfied with their price, and who dissatisfied when they send the link out.
I did a lot of research into selling gold, even though I only had one old ring to cash in. I read lots of threads on MSE, checked feedback, and checked many different sites for prices. Hatton Garden came out second in the price comparison, but only by pence, and they had good feedback, so I decided to go with them.
When did you use it Posted first class recorded on Thursday 8th July. This meant it wasn't insured - but it was 6 pounds to send it special delivery, and I thought it was only worth about 40 quid. As I've never had any issue with Royal Mail I gambled, and it cost about 1.50 to send. I figured I would in effect be gambling 4.50 that the RM would lose something worth 40, I weighed up the risks and decided to take that chance, though I'm not recommending it to anyone else. RM delivered the next day, Friday 9th July.
What did you send it 1 ring. It was a white gold 18k engagement ring, but I had my stone reset, so sent them the old mangled ring, less diamond, obviously. The jeweller who reset the stone for me was happy to give me the old gold back, and told me it was worth about 40 pounds. Since she was not offering to buy it from me, I trusted her appraisal of 40 quid.
How much did it promise you No promises. I weighed the gold myself, and guessed it was worth about 65, depending on how accurate my kitchen scales were, based on the price per gram on the website.
How much did it deliver £67.08
How efficient was the service Very quick. I had an e-mail by 2pm on the afternoon of delivery confirming my cheque had been sent.
If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason It did.
Anything else other people should know Just that they were very quick. Do check the daily gold prices at a variety of places before sending.Debt at highest Nov '06 £17,822.98
Debt at LBM Nov '07 £14,231.63
DEBT FREE as of 01/01/09 now I have savings!!0 -
Researched buyers of gold including this thread which led me to think HGM were OK. However, I am astonished by the expericen in a good way!
Sent gold Friday, money in account Monday morning ... how good is that?!
Best was that I had no real idea of the weight of gold in a pocket-watch and had estimated 10g ... however, HGM advised 25.9g! This allays the worry in using an unknown business in this market with an obvious opportunity to leverge ignorance on weight ... but this did not happen, I am delighted to say.0 -
This the second time I have HGM. And I would not hesitate to use them again. I sent this chain in because I got fed up of having the link renewed on a regular basis.
When did you use it 12 July 2010
What did you send in 9ct gold chain.
How much did it promise you £203
How much did it deliver £200.32
How efficient was the service Excellent, first class.
If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason. I over estimated the weight of the chain slightly.
Anything else other people should know. Cannot recommend them highly enough, great comms and super fast payment. :T:T:T:pB&SC No. 298
