I'm a long time MSE'r and can confirm that I sent all my gold off last week and within less than 24 hours I had a very handsome sum of money in my bank account and would gladly recommend them.

No scams, no haggling just excellent service and good prices and I had already done my homework with various other companies.

I went into a jewellers the following day to get something repaired and the lady in front of me got approx £200 less than she could have got from HMG but it was £300 more than the local jewellers she had gone to first in the town, so she was happy!

So there are big variances out there but HGM are one of the top ones and as long as you do the special delivery yoou are covered if the parcel goes missing.

I like many people on here have nothing to do with this company.

We are all used to hearing the negative stories that it's hard to appreciate when there is a good one.

However, I am posting because I'm extremely happy with the service from HMG.

I sent a gold watch and, because I couldn't remove the movement, I didn't know how much they would pay.

The payement was far more than I expected & was in my bank a/c the day after I sent.

I heartily recommend this company

If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason - Gave slightly more

Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. It gave me the confidence to send off some damaged gold to HGM. I'm so glad that I did!

What did you send it - broken and damaged gold chains, odd earrings
How much did it promise you - £305.00
How much did it deliver - £295.90
How efficient was the service - Excellent service. I wasn't too sure if a couple of the chains were 9ct as I had originally bought them abroad. So I was thrilled with the pay out!
Anything else other people should know - Fantastic service. I asked for the payment to be sent by cheque. They were very quick. The payment arrived and was banked today.

posted 100gms gold wednesday am to hatton garden metals and by today thursday noon so less than 24hrs £966 was paid n cleared into my account was little less than online quote but that was because there was a non gold chain and glod price slightly lower today but never the less alot more than £600 that i was offered by local jewellers. was sceptical as never heard of them before but took the chance and it paid off. will use again for sure i am just a normal person from devon who needed some cash and this is a genuine post as want to tell you all how pleased i am

Posted my gold to them yesterday via Special Delivery.
Not had an email from them yet and my account just says my enquiry number and says status new from yesterday.:(

Just had a look on the Royal Mail website and it just says they have my item and it will be delivered by the guarenteed time.

While do i feel so nervous about this now, i actually feel quite sick. I have sent them a message through the contact us page to see if they have received it but have heard nothing back yet.

Wouldn't worry quite yet - it's not quite 1.00pm.
I assume you sent it standard special delivery (ie guaranteed by 1.00pm) rather than pay the extra for 9.00am delivery?
Give it till mid-afternoon at least before starting to panic :eek:

Well now i really am starting to panic :eek:

Had an email from gary to say they have processed everything that arrived today and could i give him my parcel number (which i have but not received a reply yet)

The Royal Mail track and trace has gone from we have your item and we guarentee to deliver it on time (or words to that effect) to your item is currently progressing through our delivery network.

Why oh why do i have such a bad feeling about this

Hattan garden metals shut a 2pm today.:(

actually edit that, they shut at 1pm, haven't heard a thing back and it's now 3.15pm. I won't be able to do anything unil Monday now.

Just found out the the Royal Mail failed to deliver my parcel in time but it is being held for delivery on Monday.
Gary from Hattan Garden Metals was kind enough to telephone me and also emailed to put my mind at rest.

I am not happy with Royal Mail, i paid for SD next day and it was not delivered in time.:mad:

This company would be the only company i would use for my metals and i highly recommend them. The service is impeccable, and fast and easy to use.
