HATTON GARDEN METALS Feedback Thread

I would just like to follow up my post of the other day by giving my honest feedback of my 2nd dealing with HGM.
As per my last post, I sent off some more un-wanted bits of gold last Thurs' and hadn't heard back the next day as was expected. That turned out to be because Royal Mail had ,as usual ,failed to deliver on time ! Tracking confirmed that my gold arrived Monday a.m and I still did not hear though?! I e-mailed to check all was ok and shortly afterwards, received a call from Gary at HGM to explain that he personally was not in the office but only about a third of what I'd sent was showing as received ! With my agreement, he said he would look into the matter and let me know once he was back today(Tues).
I have sung their praises before ,having had great service on another occassion but I must confess to feeling a tad uneasy about the 'short-fall' ! Probably a postal prob' but still......?!
As of 10.40 this morning , I still hadn't heard (which is unusual for HGM, they are very swift) so e-mailed once more to enquire and they rang straight back .All was sorted out and I was paid by BACs immediately !!!
Now I would just like to point out that I AM NOT connected with HGM in ANY WAY AT ALL or the jewellery trade in any shape or form (unlike other competitors posting!). I AM a normal honest consumer who appreciates good service and good value AND good manners.
I got all of these plus honesty dealing with HGM and that is wonderful !
Call me 'old-fashioned' but we all like to moan when something is not good but many of us do not thank or comment when something is great. I do ! Thanks HGM..You ARE great !
(For the cynics out there,I may be quite a newbie but we all have to start somewhere and I can verify my authenticity. Also I have posted on another thread before....based on appalling service with a phone recycling Co )0 -
I have used HGM for the second time. Posted yesterday and received the money in my account this afternoon. Price was what I expected for gold and platinum.
Very happy and will use again.0 -

Used HGM - sent items away Tuesday, Royal Mail not exactly on time, but email response today, sent 96g 9CT and 2g 21CT, which was slightly out from my weight due to bangle and earring wire, - total £847, which was in my account within 10 minutes of the email. WOW impressed with that - looked at many different companies and no-one came close to that amount. Very very impressed and would most sincerely recommend them without a doubt.

just to say how pleased i was with the sevice from hatton garden metals this week.
Have been following the posts on here for a while.
Posted the parcel on wednesday morning and money was in my account by 11.30 next morning.
Orininally spoke to Gary as i wasnt sure what ct some of the jewellery was as i new it wasnt all 9ct.
Thay paid out on 18ct so was happy with that.
Wouldnt hesitate in recommending them to friends and family.
I am genuine but usually only post on the travel forums.0 -
I sent about 18g of a couple of months back and had about £150 back which I was pleased as was only broken bits of earrings, odd backs and some gold necklaces and a bangle nothing that I didnt' mind parting with. There was a little silver as well so I was really pleased.
Have had another sort through some jewellery and might post some more for the second time.0 -
Just found this thread and haven't read all of it, but would just like to say that I used HGM last year and received almost £400 for my odd earrings and broken jewellery. Nothing I could make use of any more so very pleased and would recommend.:j
(and you can see I'm not a newbie)!:p0 -
WOW is all i can say about HGM. Sent off just over 100 grams of gold yesterday, much of this broken or really old (not antique old). When i weighed it the website said around £850, really thought this was too good to be true!!
Was checking the tracking on Royal Mail when email popped up at 10.54 with remittance advice for almost the exact amount expected.
Money was in the account by the time i logged in to the bank at 11!! Over £850, these guys are great, no gimics and no messing. would most definitely use these guys again."The darkness has no answers"0 -
I posted out for the second time, yesterday I sent off just under 8grams and received just over £60 so was delighted as it was a bangle, thin necklace and an anklet. I received my money in bank the next day. I would recommend them, but sadly the only jewellery I have left is sentimental so am keeping.0

Excellent service, posted 58g of 9ct gold on Thursday, money in my account by Friday lunchtime. Received £500 after being quoted £300 by a very reputable local jeweller. Very pleased with the whole process. :T0
