Third time I have used Hatton Garden. Very quick efficient process, I weighed my gold / silver on the kitchen scales and sent it in. Money received (first 2 times) was slightly less that the weight I had calculated but was based on published gold prices on their website which are the best around. Differences were down to stones being removed from the rings / earrings etc, plus my kitchen scales rounding upwards.

The last time I used them there was a 40% difference in the weight which they calculated compared to what I had done - 3x rings and they removed all the gemstones, so an acceptable reason. They emailed me to check that I was happy to proceed with their new weight; as soon as I confirmed that I was (via website) , the money was in my bank account practically immediately.

Highly recommended, and they have in effect paid for my log burner :-)

Read about HGM on this site and decided to get the train to Hatton Garden to sell a relatively small amount of gold with absolutely no idea of the value. Walked into the first jewellery shop in Hatton Garden and they offered us £949 and I nearly keeled over as I truly didnt expect that,however we said that we would get another valuation as theirs was the first and we walked 2 minutes further and found HGM who offered us £1450 ....a huge difference!!!! We then went back yesterday and the same happened again.
Excellent service,helpful and cash paid instantly.

Just sold some gold and the service was excellent. We were kept informed at every step and the money was in our account on the same day. We received £132 more than at our local jewellers on the high street. I was a little nervous to send the item in the post, but this transaction has reassured me.

Having read the various reviews on here and the sceptical view of some posts due to the relatively large number of newbies on this thread I was a bit dubious. I took the plunge and can confidently say they were everything the good reviews say they are. Everything they promised was as delivered. Easiest transaction I've ever had for selling something.

Please don't trust hatton garden metals. They will tell you that you have less weight than you do knowing that you can't be bothered paying to have your gold sent back to you then paying to send it somewhere else so you just except their offer.

Third time I've used them now. I sent my gold yesterday afternoon and received payment today just before noon. (£225!! :-) )

The weight they told me was within half a gram of what I thought. The scales I used is a calibrated balancing spoon, and so fairly accurate.

I can understand newbies signing up with MSE to rave about the services of HGM. They do do a good job of customer service. Those who sign up to post negative things might be competitors, or simply disappointed they didn't get as much as they expected.

Just stumbled across this thread so thought I would throw in my tuppence worth!
I have used Hatton Garden Metals 4 or 5 times in the past and can honestly say they have been bang on and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. I just weighed using the kitchen scales, popped it in the post and got paid the following morning........couldn't ask for a better service.

As for the comments (positive or negative) regarding newbie posters its simple......don't read them, go with the reviews from folk who have been around here a while!

I posted approximately 40 grammes (using our kitchen scales) of 9ct gold with their valuation of £364 to Hatton Garden Metals yesterday via special delivery.
I received an e mail at 2 20 pm today telling me that a sum of £360 51 had been sent to my bank!
Needless to say there was a very slight weight discrepancy,however,the rate had increased!
At 3 30 pm the money was in my account!
This is the second time I have used HGM I was as pleased then as I am today.

After using other scrap gold companies for a few years, I decided on the recommendation of this site to try Hatton Garden Metals. I can only say I am very impressed with how quick the service is and how quickly the money appeared in my bank. I have sent another bundle of gold I found, which i no longer wear. If they are as professional as they were with my first items, i will be using them in the near future and recommending them to family and friends. :T

I have just used Hatton Garden Metals for the first time and I have to say I am very impressed indeed with their service. I weighed my jewellery on the kitchen scales and filled in the details on their website as requested, sent the jewellery off to them on the Tuesday and Wednesday morning received an email back from them with my weights and their weights. I did expect them to differ a little as kitchen scales are not as accurate as jewellers scales but there wasn't that much difference. They asked me if I was happy with their valuation which I was and told them to go ahead. Five hours later another email arrived with the total value they would be paying, checked in my bank account and the money was already in. I cannot fault this company and would definitely recommend them. Thank you very much Hatton Garden Metals.
