I'm not a newbie but recently used this company to sell a load of old gold and silver jewellery. The price they offered was good and it was a painless process. I was not asked at any time to post a review on here. However, as so many reviews are written by newbies who never post anything else, I imagine they are people that work for the company opening accounts for that purpose which actually defeats the object on a forum like this as people see right through the deception and assume the company is a bit dodgy.
I cant remember now exactly what I sent but I know I just assumed everything was 9ct gold so was actually pleasantly surprised that it was assessed by them as 18ct and I was paid a higher price. The service was very efficient. I followed the instructions and the money was in my account the next day after I sent the stuff.0 -
we sent items down which had been measured on our calibrated, very accurate work scales, so we had already worked out the value of the items based on the published calculator, but HGR didn't contact us on receipt to advise of the value, then they paid out substantially less than the calculator told us to our bank without waiting from any confirmation from us to proceed. We have recorded the trend of gold and silver prices which have consistently increased over the period we are talking about now we are about £500 short on the payment they have sent based on their own on-line calculator. Nor did they give the £50 additional incentive. Be very careful with this, best to take to a local gold merchant!!0

They do not pay out the anything like the to the prices published on their website - nor do they follow their own published process of telling you what the value is before they pay out - they take the gold, pay substantially less than the value published into your account then completely ignore you when you question why they have paid out without your confirmation to proceed!!! DONT USE THEM
and I agree with other postings - some overly positive posts about the company - very suspicious. :mad:0 -
On the other hand, I also think it is suspicious that two completely new posts appear with really negative stuff about the company within a few hours of each other. I wouldn't listen to the advice of a complete newbie when there are plenty of posters who have been money-savers for years. It makes me think these people are out to rubbish HGM for some reason. My experience with them was good, but I can only speak for myself.0

As a newbie... I probably don't have much say here anyway (especially not on this thread :P). I was looking to purchase some gold sovereigns from Hatton Garden Metals as their prices do look good. But reading backwards on this thread, it does look suspicious that virtually all the feedback is from new users, who have also never posted since their first about Hatton Garden Metals. That does concern me.
Might give them a call tomorrow and ask if I can visit in person to buy. I'll keep you posted...0 -
Im not a newbie and I have used Hatton Garden metals on several occasions.
They have always been superb, paying an awful lot more than was offered elsewhere.
I have recommended them to both family and friends and have never
had anyone say that they were not happy with them.
I would not hesitate to recommend them .
