MSE News: Ryanair to charge for Visa Electron bookings

The Caxton card suited us better than the rest. The card costs nothing and the £10 you load it with to start is added to your account.
We are only likely to book one Ryanair flight a year, if that, and it certainly won't be cheap as it will be from Scotland at New Year. Last year it was over £400 for 2 people so £1.50 per transaction is better that £20 in fees.0 -
I tried to use my prepaid mastercard but it didn't work, any reason why?
What do I put in as the name of card etc?0 -
I looked at the escape card, but as with luci the caxton card suited us better, we might do 2 or 3 ryanair flights a year at the very most. Plus it genuinely is free to use abroard, used mine for the first time last week for cash and puchases.0

Ah right, fair points. I have booked and taken 8 flights already this year with mine, so understandable! I guess its about the use you're guna get out of it.0

I have booked 7 return flights this year with my Neteller card which is free to get, free to load with bank transfer and free to use - saved me £70 in Ryanair fees thus far and has not cost me a penny to use0

Is there an issue now with ryanair and fairfax - Ive been trying all morning and my card keeps getting declined :mad:0

My former flatmate from UK told me on Facebook today that he has problems with FairFX to buy Rayanair tix. Ryanair doesn't always accept the card and when you quickly need a working card, you might lose on the 5 quid deals with Ryanair. I'd go for something more stable.0

I booked three flights with mine this morning no problems. The only problem was that I had to wait until this morning! I found the flights last night, topped up the card using my debit card and then got a message saying the funds would be available "within the next few hours"!!! It wasn't until 08:22 this morning I was notified the funds were available. Luckily the flights had not increased in price in the meantime, but this was inferior to NET+ card from Neteller (which I use for flights billed in Euro) which tops up instantly by debit card.My former flatmate from UK told me on Facebook today that he has problems with FairFX to buy Rayanair tix.
