Will a PS3 work if I bring it back from the US?
Yep, you just need to replace the power lead with a kettle style UK lead
  • if this damn thing has bugs/faults after all the wait for the system, it will prove sony are pants,. the ps2 had a weak laser,. then again the current xbox 360 has poor dvd playback,i know its a gaming unit not a dvd player but why give it a free but crap dvd playback feature that will prolly stress the laser in the long run. (so ppl go buy another one!)

fair play to u if u get one and sell it on feebay for a stupid'er price,.

I think the xbox 360 has bigger issues than that! Sending ours back to Microsoft today for the second time
  • i'm going to the US in april, should I buy one from over there or will the uk bought games not work? I realise ill need to change the lead but I seem to recall that consoles are locked to regions or something. i.e. uk games wont work on a US console and vice versa.

hope someone in the know can help.

The other thing you need to be aware of is that you would not have the unit covered under the European warranty. Sony have Zero tolerance when it comes to imports.

I know that there is region coding involved somewhere, however, i dont know if it for the games or movies but Sony have put alot of effort into stopping imports so its doubtful that you would be able to Play Jap / American games on the UK / European version
  • ah thats a shame I was hoping to buy one in the states and save a few pounds. if I cant play english bought games/dvds on it then theres no point really. Hubbys gonna be a bit disappointed, ah well thanks anyways. :)

never had a problem with mine, and the X amount i sold, if u buy on release day then u will have problems with any system,. the wii had a minor disc wont eject error on a few systems but thats about it ,. 360 was over heating but any thing released after march 06 was fine,.

but sony had problems with ps2 even after release,

and the ps3 is reporting to become very hot (not in a good way)

they dont make pics like below for no reason,. the ps3 needs 8 times the power of the ps2,. yes Eight,.
    look up ps3 grill

the ps3 song is str8 to the point,.
