Afternoon everyone
Just munching on some cheese on toast, with worcestershire sauce - haven't had it in yonks.
I too have had problems accessing MSE via AOL, but not as much as everyone else. I found that if I went from say Blog and clicked on the chat forum link on the left, then it tried to download a file, but other than trying to do it a couple of times yesterday when I first tried to get in, nothing. Have no idea what's causing it, I expect it's at their end soI'll leave them to fix it.
DS2 has been taken to pre-school and I've just been to the P.O. for Mr TM and the Co-op for some bits. I am awaiting the imminent beeping of the BM as I have a rhubarb cake in there. Smells divine but no idea if it will taste as good. I'll let you know. DW has just finished and I need to put WM on and bring in dry washing from line. Other than that, nothing much achieved here today.
I've now got an hour and a half to achieve something before the school runs start again. I also need to put cardboard in the boot to take to recycling point when I collect DS2.
We're (that's me and boys) are going out tonight. One of our neighbours is having a "wine and light buffet" for our part of the street as they are fairly new here. Glad it's dry and quite warm. I shall enjoy that. Mr TM is popping home from work then heading off to Milton Keynes for the weekend. That reminds me, must wrap the 'wedding' presents and get the card out.
Newsflash - the cake is out and it's devine, albeit a little sweet. I shall use less sugar next time. It's the banana bread recipe for the panny breadmaker, but I added a cupfull of stewed rhubarb instead of the banana. You still get a few lumps of rhubarb throughout the cake too.
Right, best press on. Have a good day everyone

Afternoon Everyone
Just having a quick read as I didnt get the chance this morning.
PP: Have a great holiday.
Moggins: Glad DD is on the mend and your mums coming home.
Shez: We got a cat from the RSPCA about 12 months ago. They tend to know whether there suitable for children and wont let you adopt a unsuitable one. Passing the home test was the hardest part for us as DD was less than 6 months old we had to spend quite alot of time with the cat at the cattery to prove that it wasnt bothered by her. Also I dont think that they will let you have one if you live on a busy road.
Roz: Bet your counting down the hours now good luck with the move.
Everybody else I'm not being ignorant but computer is playing up and wont let me open another window and I cant remember anybody elses news
So far I've managed to
2 loads of washing
Picked up the carpet cleaner.
DD has gone to sleep so going to press on with the rest now and proberbly do the shoping later when DH gets in.
See you later everyone

It's a lovely day here,
I've got one load of washing out and in and the other hung out. DS finally brought down his laundry so its all his clothes and ours (OH and mine) still to do tomorrow . DD prefers to do her own.
I've been removing flower buds on the garlic and despite washing my hands really well, all I can smell is garlic.
OH cycled the 40 miles to work again yesterday(2nd time as he did it last week).
I dont know how long he will keep it up as he had 2 punctures.
Yesterday I bought the kids new swimming costumes and DS new goggles. It came to £43   We always buy the endurance costumes as they last years but of course they do grow too. Anyway after my success with home made shorts for me, I went to the fabric shop and bought swimming costume material for my costume and have spent this morning drafting a pattern from my pattern drafting book. I'll let you know how I get on. My DD was very dubious:mad: she said 'Mum, are you sure?' in her most horrified voice. I said if it didnt look good, I'd make it into underwear and she said 'Ooh, silky black Underwear!' in a very enthusiastic manner:rotfl:
DS is doing Spag Bol tonight (his speciality)0 -

There's going to be trouble! Yesterday, when collecting the eggs, DS carried one back under his chin! The inevitable happened. School uniform blathered, DS contrite. DH has just gone to put on wellies, and found them full of egg! Aaarrrghhh. DH not too bothered about the accident (but will advise DS to use egg bowl next time). He is bothered about not being told about his boots.
Great bike ride. About 15 miles, circular route from my door, but something odd around here. Wind is always in your face, and it's always uphill, even on the way back. Before anyone suggests we do it in the opposite direction; tried that, and it's still uphill all the way.
Rzl, Love Angela Gheorghiu. Saw her when we went to Queen's Jubilee concert in 2002. DD thinks Bryn Terfel looks like he should be Daniel Bedingfield's older brother. :rotfl: Have his music permanently on work laptop.
Are you up for the suggestion of a duet of Nessun Dorma if England win World Cup? I sing alto; how about you? I can manage tenor parts, though. Anyone want to join us to make 3 tenors? :undecided
Ticklemouse, godd work on the cake! Is there a piece each?
Shez, was called in on day off as local TV needed to interview someone in our office. This was my first TV interview, so was pretty nervous beforehand, but all went well.
Have good weekends!

Afternoon everyone.
Two loads of washing are blowing on the line. Now i got on top of it last weekend, i'm determined to stay there. We'll see how long that lasts for. I haven't managed to do any ironing, but i did have a good scrub of the sides in the kitchen, taking everything off the surfaces, tidying and then putting back. Also cleaned the cooker top, the washing machine front and drawer, and put some bleach in the sink. Compost has been put in the outside bin, and i had a healthy cheese and pickled onion sandwich for a late lunch.
I have been online an awful lot of today, but i've played internet banking, updated my savings in my signature and my PMS, transferred money from my ciao account to my bank account (£8.38), tidied my email inbox, sent a few emails to friends, and worked out how much savings i will need to generate from my next three pay cheques to meet my savings target. :money:
I also sorted through a lot of paperwork, finding some to shred and some to recycle. I organised a folder with a plastic wallet for each month, and then put in all my coupons (as i was quite cross to find a bundle of useful ones that had gone out of date.)
Phew - that does look a lot when i've written it all down.
I've got a chilli on the side defrosting, so i think I might deal with a bit more paperwork and then call it a day.
PP enjoy the hols. You certainly deserve a bit of time away from it all.
Shez regardless of age of cats, they will either like kiddies or not. Just like humans really. My two boys are brothers, and we got both of them when 8 weeks old, and one loves kids and will sit there and be prodded and poked without a fuss, while the other doesn't really like anyone apart from me and DH, and will run and hide if we have visitors. I blame my 3yo nephew who deliberately stomps around to provoke the response, but he won't even go near my 8mo nephew who is an absolute sweetie and doesn't even make much noise.
will try to do a bit more.
If i'm not around much at the weekend it's because i am planning on dragging DH around lots of shops.
Have a good one wherever you are.

Hello all,
I haven't posted for a while. Not been up to much exciting! I have been keeping up to date with all your news though.
I'm looking forward to the weekend. Despite having only worked 4 day weeks for the last 2 weeks I'm still looking forward to it! The weather is supposed to stay nice here. I'm not sure what the plans are yet, but hopefully I can get out on my bike at some point. I might suggest packing up a picnic & heading off somewhere for the afternoon tomorrow.
I'm hoping for a quiet evening in/early night tonight as boyf & some of our friends went out to watch the football last night & I met up with them after yoga class & we didn't get home until after 11.30! And I got no dinner.
We made some bread on Wednesday evening by hand (no breadmaker). It's not bad, just a little crusty so I will try leaving out the sugar next time as it said that that made the crust thicker.
I'm not sure what to make for dinner yet. It will probably be either pesto pasta with a side salad or quiche with new potatoes & salad. With a really cold glass of wine in either case (I was taxi driver last night for the pub so I think I've earned a glass!).
Right, better get on. I have a big pile of filing to get done before 5. Worse still, my boss is muttering about archiving all of last year's paperwork now we have got year end out of the way. I HATE filing & archiving with a passion!
Have a lovely weekend all,

Afternoon all
I’ve had a funny old day – I received a call this morning that a chap from work had taken his own life on WednesdayIt’s awful to think someone could feel that alone. I’m so glad I have the supportive MSE gang to chat with. His line manager was really upset so went to keep her company this afternoon, we’re all wishing that we could have done something to help.
Other news is that the house has finally fallen throughAfter three weeks of not being able to contact the vendor she wandered into the Estate Agent and said that she didn’t want to sell. Her property has been on the market since June 05!!! Why do people do this?!
This means I have spend nearly £4K this year trying to buy two houses  , now I don’t know what to do and where to live! I think I am going to lie low for a while and lick my wounds. No-one told my house buying would be this traumatic.
Taking two great girlfriends out tonight to say thank you for looking after me the last couple of months, though it will be a subdued evening as we all worked with this chap. He was only in his early 30s.
Cha97michelle – Glad you are taking some time out, as you said health and baby comes first. I work in FE and have it no-where as difficult as you do. I’m glad you are taking care of yourself
PP (have a GREAT holiday) & Pavlovs_dog – congrats on finishing your essay – isn’t it a wonderful feeling when it’s done! Hurrah!
FunkyFairy – ((((hugs)))) about you feeling down, days like that are hard, aren’t they? I hope you have had good weather where you are and it has made you feel a bit brighter.
Queenie – thanks for the congrats! I phoned my mum about my brother and have tried to persuade him to sit it again.
Shez – It’s a City and Guilds Level 2 – but I am way behind with the coursework and missed loads of taught sessions, due having to cover someone’s teaching the same evening. Wish I could start it from fresh next year, but my College won’t be running it.
I hope Roz’s move is going well.
