MushyPeas wrote:Afternoon all
I’ve had a funny old day – I received a call this morning that a chap from work had killed himself on WednesdayIt’s awful to think someone could feel that alone. I’m so glad I have the supportive MSE gang to chat with. His line manager was really upset so went to keep her company this afternoon, we’re all wishing that we could have done something to help.

I am so very, very saddened to read this. I hope that those who were close to him will come to realise that, sadly, there would have been little they could have done, even if they feel there is much they 'should' have done; and that none should feel any guilt or reproach themselves with if's, but's or maybe's. Prayers going up for all who are touched by this very sad news and to those who are grieving.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Oh you all sound so industrious as usual........ I have been at work all day sorting out other peoples  and then when i asked for next friday off got "who else is off in your office" i pointed out that the other 2 don't work fridays and that my consultant is okay with it ....... <<mutter mutter>>. Anyway, about to go out on my avon 'round but am popping on here first. Mr Rage had a LONG list of things to do but hasn't done a single one of them as he's bene on a wedding driving job all day - started at 10 and only just finished before he picked me up and then has gone straight to asda for his shift. poor thing - although as we all know we would have had time to cook a 3-course meal, do a load of washing AND sort out the NHS overspend...:rotfl: i have to finish off the baby sampler tonight -checking for any missed stitches etc and then pack for the christening this weekend. I shall also put the washing on as there's bound to be something in there that MR Rage wants and he hasn't "thought on" as I keep saying to him.... Last night after the footie we went shopping and I bought a summer dress for the event on sunday - i haven't bought a summer dress for a couple of years so i felt quite justified. Then i came upstairs tried it on again, took it off ot have a little lie down as I felt tired and woke up and it was 1.30 a.m.!! oh dear..... Today wasn't particularly old style lunch-wise either as I got fish and chips from the canteen - mind you i have lived on fruit all week and then salad when i've got home......... i'm soon going to be all nectarined out!!! Well, must crack on! and when I've finished my avon i'm having a pimms!!!:beer:But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0

If it is third time lucky then you should end up somewhere fantastic in the end.
moggins
hope you are feeling a bit better and that your dad will be less demanding now.
Spent today just doing odds and ends. Went to dad's flat to let the gp in and we will see a mcmillans nurse on Monday lunchtime. Trying to arrange transport when he has to go to hospital on Thursday and will try to go with him so I find out what the situation really is. Dropped off pairs of clean pyjamas and about to wash some more for him. He does not seem impressed with the microwave meals I bought - but he would not let me order any from Wiltshire - so that is not something I can do that much about.
Hope we do not have to go down again tonight - but if we do then we do! he has three carers a day visit- plus nurse or doctor or a therapist- lets hope the mcmillan nurse can help with ideas."This site is addictive!"

As for stuffings  depends on what's on hand:

~ l/o meat (minced) with onions, breadcrumbs, gravy
~ mince with diced bacon offcuts, breadcrumbs, tomato/onions
Tonight was left over bol sauce with breadcrumb to firm:laugh:

Hi all
It's still friday, hurrah! I'm totally pooped though, think I could sleep for an entire week.
At lunchtime today I realised I had odd shoes on - navy on one foot, black on the other. I didn't even get dressed in the dark...
MushyPeas - I'm really sorry to hear about your colleague, how absolutely devestating for his family.
Also, MP, I'm sorry that your house has fallen through. That vendor sounds like a total waste of time. I know that's no use to you. Just keep on looking, you will find something in due course.
Penelope Penguin, you made me laugh when you mentioned how everywhere is uphill when you're on your bike. Well done on your television interview - is it available via the internet at all?
ChaMichelle - I'm glad you took today off. They seem to be taking you very much for granted, good for you for putting yourself first.
FunkyFairy - I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling down today. Don't be too hard on yourself, and definitely not with the house and things. Keep posting here, it's a great distraction.
Gotta go, eyes are trying to shut and the house is a tip so that needs sorting before I go to bed.
Good night.

Queenie wrote:Vicky A - hope OH was able to speak to his friend and find the words that dealt successfully with your dilema.
Thanks Queenie. Yes, OH has spoken to his friend and explained the situation in a tactful way. Luckily the friend is understanding and fully comprehends - especially as they had the same situation at their wedding.
Well, it's the end of the week and the children have only got 5 weeks left of school. This means that they're practically climbing the walls! I'm hopefully having a Year 5 class next year, so they should be a little calmer. Please?
Tomorrow we've got a little bit of excitement happening as OH and I are going to look round a house with the potential of buying. Well, we're looking at buying something or other. Preferably with walls and a roof, if we can afford it.
We're then scooting up to Lincolnshire to see the florist for our wedding before heading towards my parents to do them a barbie. We'll also see what damage my brother has done to my grandpa's house. He's living there at the mo, whilst doing it up before my parents rent it out. Let's just say it has a voilent pink bathroom suite, complete with an avocado downstairs loo and flowery carpet straight out of the 70s......
Must dash and carry on watching EastEnders...................

Hello,
Feeling a lot better this morning.
Snowy - Naughty girl made me laugh so loud it made my tummy hurtwhen I read about your two different shoes. Ha Ha. Still chuckling now. DH still not home from work yet. Should be home around 9am. 1/2 hr to go. I think I will go into town with DD today as I can use her as a pack mule
to get groceries. I also need another script etc. DH will be asleep most of the day so we might as well.
MP Ditto about your friend as well. One of DH very good friends did the same thing a couple of years ago. It's really mind boggling isn't it.
I better get going & start the day. Hope you all have had a nice day. I see England won their soccer match as well. We play Brazil on Monday. We've got buckleys chance. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all :hello:
Just came back from taking my girlfriends out for a 'thanks for being there' meal'. Strangely feeling a bit low, so thought I would postTheir OHs both turned up at the end, which just reminded me that I'm now ex-OH. I think losing the house (and £4K) is also getting to me, it sucks, I can't believe I have been so unlucky.
But....if this board has taught me anything, it is that I must be positive
So, in preparation of an action packed day tomorrow (later today!) here is my list of things to do:- Join teaching union (to prepare fighting redundancy action)
- Wash bedclothes, ironing
- Start work on Photography coursework with brother
