    Evening all

TM, Rzl, Nels...sounds like you've all had a great time.

Nothing OS here at all today, had my grandmothers burial this morning.....never nice.

Popped to tesco for a few fresh bits and managed to spend £80  ....Some how we needed washing powder, coffee, loo rolls etc all on the same week...they really do bulk the price up....DH picked up 2 pairs of shorts too - but he's worth it.

Went for a swim this afternoon, 4th time this week, I'm being very good...can see the benefit already. Then it was back home to cool down, started watching a film but fell asleep...feel a little heady now so a sit infront of the fan with a bottle of cold water should do the trick.

Back on the OS wagon tomorrow with a day of batch cooking.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

    Evening everyone :hello:

The end of another working week. I can't quite believe it........... only 4 weeks to go until our wedding . OH is now on his stag do up in Leeds. Be warned anyone who goes near the city!

I went to see another house tonight. Predictably, it's lovely, but out of our price range.......... However, I'm taking OH to see it on a second viewing on Tuesday and we may put in an offer that we think is acceptable (ie what we can afford!!!). We'll see...

Rzl, TM & Nelski - well done on your shopping spree! I'm very very envious.

PP - well done on the bargains! As they say, whilst the cat's away....

Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to see my friend (chief bridesmaid) in Suffolk. Her husband is on my OH's stag do, so we're having a quiet chinese takeaway and catch up. They've been really busy with moving house, so it'll be nice to have a chat.

Anyway, I've just had fish and chips   so I'd better go and relax. It's sitting rather heavily at the mo

Well today is a good day ... am feeling most mellow, not quite sure why, but I'm not knocking it :)

This morning our local farm managed to raise the money it needed to save it from potential developers. They've worked really hard to do this, so a big  :j  :j goes out to them (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/5125986.stm )

OS wise today, not a lot I'm afraid. 2 loads of washing does not an O'Styler make.

Received the antihistamines from the company mentioned over on the "shop but don't drop" board, so most happy .. £8.31 inc postage for 120 tablets :)

Just watered the garden and my cucumbers / toms / peppers are flowering .. so does this mean it's time to feed them?

Read the post on kefir - most tempting, but I think I'll leave that for the moment. Enough on my plate without finding space for a gallon of milk ;)

Glad to hear that TM, B-Rzl, Nelski are having a jolly time. Cheshire Oaks is ace isn't it. Food there is atrocious and rip off though. Made me most tempted to go and pay it a visit, haven't been there for a while and it's only about 30 miles up the road.

Tomorrow is another day, a day whereby I may just have to do something productive - I reckon sanding the front ground floor windows and giving them a lick of paint may be the job! Also need to do the ironing (normally do it on Tues/Wed) as I'm away in Edinburgh next week for a conference. For which I am most excited as I don't get to go away v.often with work and I do so love Edinburgh :)

Just a final note in my witterings (can you tell I ought to be sorting the finances!) ... on Tues or Wed last week I decided that I have varying store card/credit cards lurking that I really don't use and would be better off cancelling and ought to do summat about. I cancelled my Capital One card (took out yrs ago for the 9mth 0% thing) - easy. Attempted to cancel Laura Ashley and Debenhams and failed miserably - kept being cut off. Today I received a letter from Debenhams saying that as I hadn't used the card for 2yrs they were dumping me ... I felt most put out. Do you remember being young and deciding to dump a b/f (g/f) and if they got there 1st .. feeling it was most off ... that's how I felt, LOL! Mind you, saved me the cost of the 'phone call :j

Right, wittering over .. I'm off to finish cooking dinner (yes, it's late, but hey) and to refill my wine :)

    Have a good evening all.

I have finally finished the school holiday itinerary. We have something planned for 2 days of every week, plus DS has scout camp for 5 days. If I hear the cry I'm bored I am going to shoot one of them ;)

Anything in between will be filled up with the local carnival (goes on for two weeks and there are always things planned around it) and all the expensive things are paid for with Clubcard vouchers. I saved £600 and so far have earmarked only £300 of it :D

DD1 has invited us up to her pub for a barbecue tomorrow so that should be good, I hope to get some work done before we go but it depends on the weather, perhaps I should get an early night and get up at 5am?

    Late posting today been busy.......

Zed 42, I had read an article about the farm and contacted several people I knew who might have been able to help, I am so pleased that they have managed to raise the cash and more besides.........

Out this morning, this afternoon I had a very nice chap come to clean my oven........cost me £65 but worth every penny, it looks like a new cooker, took it to pieces cleaned everything even the grill tin and put it all back together.... tested it.......took him just over 2 hours............brill.

I have managed to swap my OH's no claims bonus onto my insurance, there was a bit of an anomoly I own the car but OH insured it with me as the named driver. We decided that as he is now 73 I should try and get insurance, it came in at less them the renewal for him with the same company we have been with for years......good result

Very warm here this afternoon we sat in the garden for a while, but it got too hot so we repaired to the lounge..........

Tomorrow I have a little trip out, I promised a friend a bottle of elderflower cordial so am going over to take it tomorrow, taking another friend with me for the ride and a cuppa and may be a wee piece of cake at the local windmill, its ages since I went and they are now grinding flour, so it will be interesting to see what they are selling.

We are harvesting quite a bit just now, strawberries, rasps tayberries and lettuce, my rosemary was looking stressed so I have taken some cuttings to try and grow a new one. I took some cuttings from a clematis a few weeks ago they seem to have rooted, I have 8 plants putting up new growth, so I need to pot them on and grow them for 12 months, also have a pot of lupins, we chucked and out of date packet into a plant pot and to our supprise 20 of them have germinated, so they too have to be potted on.

I'm glad all went well for you at the school PP....... TM, Nels and Rlz sound as if they have had a really good time. Thankfully I know longer have to shop for work clothes, I had loads of stuff when I retired, and have been gradually using them up, I mostly live in trousers, I feel so much more comfortable in them with a blouse or tee shirt, have a couple of 'smart' things for more dressy occasions when I have to dress up.......... I love shoes too but have not bought any in ages...... I try and keep out of shoe shops.......hnadbags used to be another weakness too, have not bought one in ages.......when I counted I had 18...........I sold some of them, the expensive ones on ebay...I still have 6 in the wardrobe...............

Ooooooooooh. Homes under the Hammer is my favourite property programme by far. I just love it how the presenters are ALWAYS walking towards the camera. Hilarious :rotfl: Moi? Sheltered life?!

I'd love to have advice from Kirsty and Phil! That would be great. OH would probably get annoyed with it all though and me "seeing" how it would be with our stuff/junk in.
