Morning! :hello:
Got a lovely attack of hayfever and am waiting for the medication to kick in, will go find some slices of cucumber in a mo to soothe my eyes.
I must go post a parcel today, my first ever sale on amazon books! :j
Catowen - Do check out that e mail as it does sound like a scam, there is a bit about the scams on the amazon thread that apprentice tycoon started on the ebay board.
At long last my dd has her date for going into hospital to remove her impacted wisdom teeth! It will be the 19th July. So she will be moving back in with us until she recovers. I will be preparing lots of soft food for a while, any suggestions will be very welcome - its a long time since I had my wisdom teeth removed!
Sadly I am getting very excited :j that I am having a chest freezer delivered tomorrow! I used the shop bots Martin recommends and Argos was the cheapest. Getting the chest freezer is only now possible through getting the conservatory done, as due to a changearound furniture wise, we now have room for it in the utility room.
When our kitchen was refitted we went for a fridge freezer and gave our old chest freezer away to a friend, I have missed it ever since as you seem to be able to store far more in the chest freezers, especially the large bulky packs. I have missed out on so many bargains in the last year. I will be going to our local fruit farm this weekend to start filling it up with whatever is a good price and a big bag of frozen peas:D
Congratulations Metherer! Wishing you and your OH many years of happiness. Also best wishes for Twinks dd and her OH.
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Good Morning All!
Suns out and getting hotter this week! Have got a "toddle" round the school this morning raising money for barnardos.
Am getting very worried about signing up for the TalkTalk Broadband deal now, reading the broadband thread yesterday and no one seems to be having service? - trying to stay positive though, thats why all this changing suppliers (eg, gas, leccy) makes me think youre better off staying where you are
Anyway - CONGRATULATIONS to Metherer & Twink DD on weddings:T
Metherer - I had a celidh band for my wedding - they were fantastic and really made the day, its great for getting people up and mixing.
Ronankfan - Paint ...I've still got bits over me from my painting earlier in the week??? even though i have bathed
PP - good luck at hospital
nelski/TM/Rzl - Not too much spending now;)
Catowen - what new Dora toys did you get? did you see dora in USA?
off for brekky now, catch you all later0 -
morning all
catowen - that is definitley a scam - i experienced it a few months back but on ebay!
not too busy a day for me today. 20 min whiz round is done, need to go to tescos and get a sneaky last shop in before the july challenge starts - only a handful of stuff to get though as i am doing a strict store cupboard challenge at the moment. will be making a trifle later with the sponge i made last week as the base - accidentally used plain flour so it didnt rise - tastes fine though.
breakfast - toast and pork dripping
lunch - salad sandwiches
dinner - welsh rarebit, salad, weetabix brownies and ice cream
got £50 put into my account from amazon sales yesterday so listing more books later today. it never fails to amaze me what people will buy!
hope the sun shines on the weddings and of course on everyone else too
have a happy day

Morning all....((((((HUGS))))))to those who need them..... congrats to those who are getting married, and PP hope the hospital goes ok.
I am on the ironing shift today...... an extra large basket full for some reason, sheets etc to do.... and that blasted quilt cover, they are a pain........
OH off to the allotment and he is playing bowls this afternoon, I am going to have a clear out in my sewing room, have lots of stuff just hanging about.... and I need to have a fabric reccy ....... I have loads some I brought back from the US in 2003 when I went to Paducah still waiting to be done up into quilts..........
We had egg mayo salad for supper last night with our own lettuce, it tastes so different from the stuff you buy in the shop, I love little gem and they are so expensive, so its great to have some in the garden. We dug the garlic when we were at the allotment, I plaited the tops together and tied them, left them hanging on a cane in the roof of the shed, so looking forward to lots of nice sweet garlic this year........
Enjoy your day everyone....... the sun is shining here, windows open..... lovely.....

morning everyone
Firstly, congrats to metherer and to Twink's DD :j :j
Hey, i'm being good, so far. Nels and Rzl don't arrive until much later. Nels is showing Rzl the delights of Cheshire Oaks, whereas I'll be getting to grips with the iron :rotfl:Mind you, my order for sunshine seems to have come through at last.
It's DS2's 2nd afternoon at "big school" today so he's really looking forward to that. At least he understands he's only going for the afternoon, not like last time where we wept buckets cos he wasn't going with his big brotherHowever, talking of school, DS1 has managed to lose BOTH his school sweatshirts this week  They aren't in his class lost property so I'm hoping there is a general lost property. They are both named but in good condition, so I'm hoping no-one has done a swap. There was also another year's growth in them too
Right, must decide what fantastic indian dishes we will be feasting on tonight. I will put a chicken in the SC so the boys can have that for tea and I'll have the rest for the curry. I'm sure I have some cooked lamb in the freezer (or is it beef?) and I have prawns and lots of veggies. Bought a bottle of wine yesterday too.... (ok, 6 then) I'd best get on. Beds need changing and I haven't swept the loft space in... ooooh, eons. Do you think Nels will be testing that with her anthea white glove?
Have a good day everyone

Feeling brighter today. I seem to go in swings and roundabouts. One day I'm knackered and the next I start off as bright as a button. I am longing for 4th July to get here so that I can find out what exactly bean is. Although I'm not looking forward to being prodded and poken with a full to bursting bladder.
Main job today is to sort out my standard life shares. Inclanation at the moment is to sell and put the cash into my 'bean' fund. Although that little voice is still there. Its only going to be around £450, but every little helps as they say.
Tea today is going to be spag bol made by my OH's fair hands.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

Morning all
What a beautiful day here today.
One little one here all day, 2 more from the school run and eldest dd home with a crashing headache...can see it in her eyes...she loves school and it was a really effort to get her to stay at home and rest.
Got general dusting, hoovering and sorting to do today, will get the ironing sorted when little one has his nap.
Made a meal plan on Monday, need to sort out what I can cook up to take on our free pontins holiday, I know they have a freezer compartment in the fridge in the accomodation we've got so will use it to best advantage.
We've had a right carry on with MFI (who doesn't) and our new bed. Ordered in April - had to wait until 3 weeks ago for delivery of the frame, they forgot to tell us they couldn't get the mattress....they then arranged to deliver it yesterday..then cancelled and arranged for today...then phoned on monday to say they've not got it ....grrrrr... We'd payed for it using tesco club card vouchers and a small balance on my credit card. DH has argued with them, moaned at them, voiced his rights at them and threatened them with action as they've broken their contract....luckily he knows what he's talking about with these things. We ened up with a phone call yesterday to say they're refunding the mattress onto my credit card + a goodwill gesture payment ...ends up that we've paid -£109.87 for the bed frame. I'm more than happy with that! :j They did try and refund the voucers, but we refused saying we'd only saved them to buy the bed and they'd be useless now.
So what with that and the free holiday I won yesterday....we're quite happy :j
Right - coffee is drunk, time to get on.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Edited to say.....Just had an email in response to a complaint I made to Sainsburys about a pack of sparkly candles I bought for my DD's birthday cake....they didn't sparkle....They've appologised and given me 2000 nectar points for my trouble! That's obviously my 3 good things..Yay!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hello again,
Had an immediate email back from Amazon, and yes, it is a scam!!!! Lucky i realised, otherwise i wouldve posted my item off and lost it for good!!!! Yesterday i had 4 emails about the item, all from people in Nigeria, so something for people to watch out for!!!!
Shez - i bought a set of small figures, so we now have a Dora, Boots, Backpack (with map) Benny the bull, Eisa, Tito and Swiper!!!!! has made me very popular with the little ones!!!! i also picked up my god daughter a set of Dora coat hangers which went down a treat as well. Unfortunatly, there was no Dora at Universal the day we went (not sure if she is there normally as the day we were there it was raining and none of the characters were out, apart from Shrek and Donkey!!) but i did get the children to take a picture of me in front of a shop with a huge Dora on the window, but i look like a drowned rat, so dont think i will be sharing it!!!!
Right, im off to do something useful, not sure what yet tho!!!
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0
