Afternoon everyone.
I'm back but definitely not with a vengeanceDD and DS are both much better and will be going back to school in the morning. DH has so far not come down with the lurgy (which is great as being sick with a cracked rib is not a nice prospect) but although I seem to have got past the bug it is taking me longer than the kids to bounce back, I have very little energy and have only managed to deal with the washing this morning and get breakfasts and lunches. I've forced myself to eat something so hopefully I will have some more energy this morning.
Got a couple of nice money off coupons in the post this morning and my £5 Adams voucher from nectar so that will pay for DD's vests for the winter. I also got all the seeds I ordered from the Thompsons catalogue so I must feel better by the weekend for more planting.
Thanks for all the laughs you have given me this morning, they do make me feel betterOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Ooh, Moggins, you do sound less than chipper........ but back on the mend:D
HAve been felling a little worse for wear (being sick) myself the last couple of days and ended up falling asleep at 4 a.m. this morning, waking up at 8.30 (should have been 6, but to be honest, I took the alarm off), then moseyed on into w**k. Everyone being nice to me, I work with a lovely team. I am feeling v tired, so looking forward to an early night.
Aril I know exactly what you mean about the OH being away - my routines go as there is only me to consider. I eat badly, at weird times and watch awful TV at silly times of the morning. It's OK for a while, but then you have to get back on track:D
The Cheshire Oaks shopping binge sounds like a hoot - have fun ladies!
Don't feel like eating today, but could be tempted by Heinz tomato soup and a soft white roll....... which is what my mum could tempt me with when I was smallWhat nursery food tempts you back from illness??!
Must do some w**k w**k as we are off to Greece on Sunday for our hols. Seaside resort just south of Athens, so should be good and HOT!:T
Take care, best to everyoneEverything in moderation..............including moderation..............0 -

RLZ, Neski and TM have a fab few day
Congrats on the Holiday win pooky.
PP I'm sure the meet and greet at the school will go swimmingly and enjoy getting your hair done.
Moggins Glad to see you all on your feet again.
I've been busy getting the house tidy and making way throught he mammouth pile of ironing. Also went the hairdresses and got that tidied its only taken me 6 month to get round to it but OH said I looked like the friendly lion before he'd been to see the wizard.
The men were ment to be coming to insulate the loft tomorrow but have just phoned and cancelled so I'm at a lose end now as for what to do.
Takecare all
Off to work nowGC: £400/ £00 -
A bit late for me messaging in but I won a holiday to Pontins too today  and been busy tidying up. Still doing my bits and bobs of cleaning everyday. Off out shopping in meadowhall soon. OH works there and am picking him up so will go a bit earlier:p .
Could do with some bits and bobs of groceries but trying to stear clear of those kinds of shops as i spend a fortune.
Built my new filing cabinet yesterday but realised i'd got the wrong hanging files for it so have to take them back.
Todays food:
Breakfast: Weetabix and strawberries
Lunch: Baked Potato with cheese and coleslaw
Dinner: Carbonara (3rd time lucky as seem to make something else everytime I say I am making this).
Hope you are all having a good day and ur mini meets are all fun. :j
TAlthough I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:

Heeeeeelp!!!! Rzl here! Nelski is holding me hostage and making me post under her username while forcing wine down my throat
:D
We're off now to the Trafford Centre - where I'm sure I will be forced into spending my hard-earned money on frivolous knick-knacks :eek:0 -

A quick "hello" from me before I hit the road to drive down South.
Been fairly busy today - been to two farms for sausages and mince, and of course the obligatory sheep / cow / duck / chicken / pig spotting for DD
Came home, had fresh asparagus (another farm shop) for lunch, then we (DD & I) made strawberry ice-cream :j , which of course we had to "taste test" :j .
This afternoon, we got around to hoovering the car - children and food ... actually, not too horrendously bad, but still.
Right, iPod charged and DH appeared - so I must be off for my 3hr drive down ... work tomorrow in the office with my annual review of performance, :rotfl: .
Have a good one all.GC - March 2024 -0 -
Hiya
Been over to mum's today, taken her to carpet shops and the health centre and done her shopping for her. There's no point cleaning as she's having a new boiler fitted next week and they may still have to take at least her bedroom ceiling down, so will wait untill all work is done and blitz the place.
Bumped into an old school friend in the supermarket. It's 12 months since we've seen each other and I go to Clitheroe several times a week - however, once DS2 is at school full time in Sept, I've promised I'll go for coffee and a catch up. Hmmm, it's not like I have so much exciting stuff to do that I can't see her until then, is it! Kids, parents etc - when will I get time for me?
I've finished off the batch of CQ's base sauce ready for the curry-a-thon tomorrow night with Nels and Rzl. Have raided the asian shops and have pakora mixes and other goodies, so may go the whole hog and have a blow outI'm sure we'll have room for a wee glass of vino too.
Have run the vac round as well as the damp microfibre clothI know Nels will be checking under the bed for dust bunnies... (or is that for men?
) I shall do a Tesco shop for me tonight, after DS1 gets home from his swimming lesson and eats, then tomorrow I can lay the red carpet out for the royal visit :rotfl: Oh, I don't need to, my hall carpet IS red
Right, off to cook the shop bought pizza for the boysDS2 is out with his friend walking the dog so I expect him home soon. It's actually quiet here for once..... bliss. Maybe I'll have a cuppa.....
Welcome to hullabloo and ((hugs)) to moggins and any other sickies out there.
TM xxx
ps Best go and dust me credit card off if I'm taking the handbag queen shopping on Friday. Bounday Mill, here we come!!0 -
Welcome to hullabloo  Nice to have you here!
Nelski, Rzl and TM - have a lovely time together!
I'm back from a conference that mainly seemed to be about worklife balance in the classroom.......... hmmmm....... After all the talk that I did about coming back home and getting on with my planning, I'm "working" hard on typing this message.
We've had some bad news. Well, more frustrating really. OH needs some training and this was put in the budget at his work and also into his appraisal a couple of weeks ago. Needless to say, his boss has now turned round that he can't have the training because there's "no money".  I'm so upset as this would have meant more money, his job would have been more rewarding as he could "do" more things. It also means that he's less employable if he wanted to move...... We could use some of the money that has been set aside for the deposit on a house for this training, but OH doesn't want to touch it!
OH has got his stag do this weekend. If you happen to be in Leeds on Friday and Saturday (he's watching the cricket) then make sure that you avoid a group of blokes dressed up as Fred Flintstones and one Freddie Mercury (OH:rolleyes:).
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, I'd better go for now.
See you later

I've just finished a major work-athon. Nothing exciting there.
Unfortunately we have the dreaded OFSTED in AGAIN next week (tuesday/wednesday) If there is a higher being, please make this the last time before the stress does me serious damage.
So, i didn't get home till 7, and i've only just stopped apart from 15 minutes where i ate the tea that DH prepared bless him.
I don't know whether this is good timing or not, as at least it will be over and done with and then we can relax a bit and enjoy the end of term. On the other hand. My living room is still in a state of demolishedness, and i'm desperate to start fixing it so i won't have to live like this for months.
I couldn't use my classroom today either, so i got hardly anything done today. Although i've now crossed 5 things off my A4 week long to do list, i still have lots to do, and not enough energy.
Think i will grab a quick bath and go to bed, and then try to be up early in the morning to get on with it. The bad bit is that i teach all of my classes in those 2 days, so everything needs to be marked, up to date and sparkly for then, and my head of department and me already had a minor falling out when he wanted me to do something there and then, and i refused.
Hope the school meeting went well tonight PP.
Moggins - glad you feel better.
Pooky - well done on the win. Please take me with you so i can escape.
BRZL, Tm and nelski - hope you all enjoy your mini-meet. Have a glass of wine for me as it will be a long time before i manage one.
Take care everyone. I may not be around for the next week.
Michelle,
