    Morning all

I'm glad you are feeling better PP, enjoy your holiday and have a good rest.

Thanks everyone for the help and advice last night. I was feeling distrait as I'd rang NHS Direct and the nurse who rang back was worse than useless and just told me to not make an issue of it and to put food in front of her and take it away if she didn't eat it!! Just as if she was just being difficult about eating!

Anyway I actually woke her up at 11pm last night to give her a milkshake, this morning she has had 1/2 bowl of Ready Brek with lots of milk, extra cream and sugar and she is actually playing now for the first time in a week, it's such a relief to see her with some energy instead of lying listlessly on the sofa.

DH came home from work this morning and went straight down the Co-op to buy more milk, cream, Fromage Frais, Dairylea Dunkers (which she loves) and a large packet of Jaffa cakes. At 11am she tucked into a small glass of milk with two Jaffa cakes. She might still look skeletal but at least it looks like she is on the mend.

Plus Mum is being released from hospital at 2pm so I should have a peaceful weekend, I've already wrapped and written out Fathers Day Presents and cards so no worries there either except for buying a bottle of whiskey for DH.

Kids really want to get a Cat - am thinking of going to a rescue place, dont think a kitten would be suitable, dont fancy chewing/scratching etc, but DH thinks it will be harder to get an older that is used to children??? what do all you moggy lovers think?? DS wants a black one (must be the psychic piscean in him!)

Chewing/scratching: simply have a small squirty/spritz type bottle, if you catch the cat doing anything s/he shouldn't a quick spritz (at the cat!) will do the trick, they are intelligent and soon learn ;)

Hi PP - Of course you can text me and pass on news to MSE ... That's what I'm here for :D:D ... Chipps - Bryn Terfel is fab ... there was one occasion (too long a story to go into while this site isn't letting me do formatting or paragraphs  ) when I was in the second row of a concert he did at the Proms, and he ended up throwing his bouquet to me at the end :j :j ... also I normally don't get star struck AT ALL but there was one occasion when I happened to run into him in a theatre bar, and thought it would be a good idea to go and talk to him - BAD mistake - I turned bright red and started babbling like an idiot :o:o:o:o

    Hi everyone!
Busy, busy, busy today. I've stripped the beds and changed all the towels and there's a dark load awaiting my attention when I get back . Have also sorted out the small person's clothes as my lovely SIL has just given me a load of stuff that her son has outgrown. Three bags of stuff have gone to the charity shop this week.
Heard yesterday that using confused.com has saved us £64 on our car insurance and because our mileage is much lower than previously we can get a way with a smaller annual service as well. That shouldn't make such a dent in the finances. A friend and I are also doing a bit of children swapping in the holidays which means we can both benefit by saving on childcare costs and the small people get to spend time together [they generally get on like a house on fire]
Plans for today include making HM turkey nuggets for tea and if time permits doing the weekly menu as I've got a friend coming for lunch tomorrow. Am looking forward to this afternoon as a good friend who haven't seen for the last year because she's moved is down this way and is popping in for a cuppa and only found out this morning. Am also visiting my best friend's new abode and having the official tour this evening. Faberoony can't wait!
OH has decided that he'd like to visit a local country food and craft fair on Sun. Have been very unoriginal and bought him a bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk which is now chilling in the fridge but that's what he likes and the small person has picked out a very unusual card from Oxfam for him....it's got a stag beetle on it.....8 year old boys.....need I say more!!!
    Have a great moneysaving weekend
