Morning all
Have been a bit sidetracked lately, so haven't been posting or reading much hence apologies if I unfeelingly miss somebody's big news. However, I have been wielding the microfibres and sloshing soda, vinegar and stardrops about the place, so I've stayed on the wagon - honest guv!
PP : sorry to hear you're still feeling rough. Take it easy and pace yourself, gal!
I'd been so worried about finding the cash for DS to do his duty for Father's Day, I totally forgot about fixing up my own Dad! So thanks for the reminder everyone - especially as he's been worryingly poorly lately, so to have forgotten would have been unforgiveable.
I vac'd the house yesterday, so today I'm concentrating on other things. In a moment I shall put the washing out - its a sunny one, out there! - and then get the WM on again as I might get away with drying two loads today.
Then I need to get some mince in the SC for dinner tonight, update the cash flow for June/July so that I know how much I need to raise from Ebay this month  and get some ironing done.
Better get on with it all, then, hadn't I!Maybe just one more coffee ....
B : Wholemeal toast and marmalade
L : Either veg curry leftover from last night, or a sarnie of some kind
D : Mince, mash & veg.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

Aww, don't feel guilty about your brother, perhaps giving him some advice and help would be more beneficial?

Morning all,
It's raining here for the first time in 2 weeks and it's actually quite nice - plus the garden really needs it. Off to a big outlet centre this morning to get some cheap art stuff for ds2's birthday next week. Have also ordered some Clubcard deals to use at one of Paul Rankin's restaurants for his birthday meal - it's one of the diner/ bistros - lovely food and very child friendly. No childrens menu - just half portions of most things on the menu which is what we prefer.
Am feeling guilty about my shopping challenge for JUne. Yesterday our French student offered to pay for the shopping. I refused, so in the end she bought the fruit and veg and I paid for the rest. Should I count the cost of this into my total? On the other hand I am feeding 5 instead of 4 for a month on the same target budget.
Have to empty the drawer divan in ds2's bedroom today - full of dressmaking material that could be used up. (He's got a new bed coming on Mon with no drawers - just a pine frame)
Hope everyone has a good day“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

(((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) to those who need them:
PP... hope you feel better soon...........
Queenie:
yes thanks we are much better, I am still coughing, but its from the muck that keeps running down my throat.......... OH is fine now.. MEN!!!!!! He really enjoyed his day yesterday and has come home with some good ideas, unfortunately most of them will have to wait a) until it rains and b) until we have the cash to do them.......
Well spent all last evening looking through the stuff we got at the show..... the freebies will come in handy especiallythe hand cream which they were giving out by the shovel full...........
The plants I bought are in the shade on the patio and thats where they will stay until we have enough rain to soften the ground.
One thing we did get was an extending mop to clean the upstairs windows with. I used to have a window cleaner who did just the tops, but at £3.50 once a fortnight decided that we could no longer afford it, so now we do it ourselves, had been syking myself up to going up the ladder to do the bedroom windows, not I do not need to, this mop and wiper will reach fine, so clean windows again.......hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is another sunny morning, we are having lunch outside today, but not decided yet what it will be.............the sun stays off the very back of the house until about 2pm, so its very pleasant sitting there, I am considering getting a mile a minute for the fence between us and the neighbours, everyone who comes round the corner of their garage looks straight onto our patio. They are not quiet either, last night BF was watching the match, we had the TV on and the door closed and I could hear him screaming at the TV, they also play very loud reggie music..... heaven knows what its like for the people in the semi joined on to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH has asked several times for the sound to be turned down to no effect. I am lothe to make waves.... but we may have to.
Right I am off to get a cup of coffee and drink it outside whilst comtemplating what to do in the back garden.....................
Have a nice day.........................

Morning All
Quick one this morning. Hugs to all who need them. DD still not well, OH in bad books amoungst his crimes is spilling half a bottle of coke over the living room carpet and not cleaning it up properly. But on the bright side WM is fixed.
So inspired by Nicki here is my plan for the day.
Go to MIL and pickup carpet cleaner.
Nip to Aldi and pick up bits needed.
2 Loads of Washing
Thoughly clean Kitchen and DD bedroom
Whip through rest of house.
Clean living room carpet
Doesnt seem alot when its writen down but will have DD attached to my hip for most of it.
Have a good day everyone.Sorting my life out one day at a time0 -
tootles - i'd be reluctant to put in a mile-a-minute. We have one in our garden that our next door neighbours planted. They are in their 70s, and have lost several trees because they can't keep on top of it despite being very keen gardeners. (ie. out all day every day if they get the chance.)
Me and DH are less keen gardeners due to lack of time and before we noticed it, it was choking our trees, and we had to borrow some huge ladders and spend a couple of days pulling it all out of the trees, and filled a really big trailer twice with the vine.
If you do plant some, you'l have to look at it regularly and prune it to keep it under control. It's not called mile a minute for nothing is it. :rotfl:
WM now finished, so i guess i need to stop relaxing and start getting on.
Thanks for your thoughts mushy peas. As a fellow teacher,i'm sure you know the sort of workload i am talking about and how it can all get too much very quickly, and no-one thinks any the better of you no matter how much you do. My health and the baby are far more important at this minute in time, so i keep that thought at the front of my mind and try not to get too stressed.
see you all later,

Shez - my parents recently got a rescue cat from the RSPCA. She is a 2 year old tortoiseshell (sp? that doesn't look right but google says it is!!) and she's beautiful!!! My youngest sister is 13 so no young kids living there but my dad plays with the cat like he was a toddler (men eh?!)
The people at the RSPCA were very helpful and knew alot about the tempraments of all the cats there and were able to advise us which one would suit our "needs" best!
Re. the scratching and chewing, we have got her one of those scratching post things and plently of toys and its worked brilliantly... Although her favourite game is to chase a conker around the slippy utility room!
Hope this helps a bit... I realise its turned into a bit of a love-in about my Princess! Best thing to do is go down to the local sanctury and ask them about the tempraments of their cats0 -
Hi Again
Lets start again shall we........:rotfl:
Tablets have now kicked in:D OH has just bought me my fav treat-Local deli does a fab Coronation Chicken deli sub with lettuce and onion and have just scoffed half:o....not very OS....sorry:p
WM has been on and clothes hung on the line. DW needs to go on later and toilet has been cleaned. Cleaner is coming next week to do a major deepclean for me for whn we get back and SIL is coming in to do some nasty jobs that I hate but cant do anyway. So hopefully will come back to a gleaming house. I appreciate the help I receive so much as it would get me more down if I didnt have a nice clean home IYSWIM. I think spending so much time indoors is such a hinderance and I find myself nit picking all the time as I spend too much time in here:eek:
OH has been busy doing a mini car service. Oil change and filter. Water topped up, tyres changed around.....men. Hoovered and polished. Also filled the car up last night £41:eek:  , but would be more if needed to buy on way and refuse to pay service station prices. He has also mowed the lawn and a few other jobs too.
My hand is very painful today and looks awful! Am so glad that I dont have to have another infusion till we get back. The hospital appoint this morning was ok as the needle is just small in the end of the finger to check my warfarin levels. No hospital visits for a whole week:j  :j Have all consultants mobiles/emails and private numbers....so am well covered:D
Im going to miss you all so much this week as you keep me sain and keep me focused on something positive!
