    Good morning everyone,

Not a good OS night last night - ended up with a Chinese takeaway as the French student had never had one - well that's our excuse!:D Still it was not too bad as the meal for 1 from our takeaway feeds at least 3 so we just got that, a chow mein and a quarter duck for 5 of us and I made extra rice and pancakes (in freezer from Chinese supermarket - very cheap) to extend it. The meal for one is ribs, 6 small spring rolls, a chicken dish, fried rice and prawn crackers - I'm not sure that 1 person could manage it!

To make up for it I have just put a free ad in the local paper to sell ds1's half size violin as noone we know wants it for free. I could have put it on freecycle but we got Frederic the mortgage/ holiday pig yesterday and he's hungry:grin:

Also did some Christmas shopping along with presents for ds2 birthday yesterday.

This morning dh is playing golf so the rest of us are on a mission to find stardrops and maybe another carboot sale as the toothfairy visited ds2 this week and the money is burning a hole in his pocket.

Condolences to Penelope Penguin and hugs to all else who need them

    Morning all!

Mushy Peas - Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down, (((hugs))) from me - im absolutlely sure that good things are coming your way and this period will soon all be a distant dream.

PP - Hope you have a lovely trip!

PP2 - Im sorry to hear about your friend, (((hugs))) - i think its a lovely idea to put her on your race for life top.

Queenie - I know how you feel (kind of) every time my baby bro was ill like that it was absolutley heartbreaking. (((hugs))) to you all.

And morning to Apple_mint, Twink, VickyA, Prudent, Glad, Thriftmonster and FF!

Well, its gorgously sunny here and im not at work - as you can imagine im very pleased and intend to enjoy my day! Im also exceptionally happy - last night, whilst browsing the Metro I get free on the bus in the morning, I happened across a big advert whilst I was skipping past that page. It was for a job I know im absolutely perfect for - I have the right skills and knowledge, the right personality, and past work experience in overlapping areas. I was so excited I cant tell you. :j

So - ive downloaded the application forms and im going to apply for it on Monday. :D I wasnt even really looking for a new job because even though I dislike my current one, its kind of convenient and the benefits are good, so I had resigned myself to staying there. The ad for the job I nearly missed was like a lighthouse in a storm and the rush of energy I had from the prospect of it was just absolutley amazing. :j If I dont get it then I will be so dissapointed.

Just incase you were wondering what the job was - lets just say that it is very relevant to this site and is helping people, :A :D which is what I so desperately crave when im at my current workplace :D as the only thing im expected to do is foist loans and credit cards on the general populace (which I have some issues with if im honest:mad: ). And its a payrise of £2-£5k on my current job (wahoo!!!) So - please all keep you fingers crossed - the applications are due in before 5th July, the interviews start w/c 17th July, and start in september - which is perfect. :T

Anyway - other stuff. Things are ok, the house is a tip so I intend to spend some time cleaning like a demon today and do a bit of shopping as ive been living out of the cupboards in an effort to reduce the amount ive been spending on money, but it backfires as I end up going to buy some shopping which lasts a day and im sure im overspending. I took lunch to work 3 times last week :T which was an improvement on the week before. ive been calculating how much I have left to live on after buying the laptop next week and that will force me into impoverisment but i dont mind - if i dont have a lot of money i generally spend less - if money is there i go wild :o .

Anyway - better dash, so much to do and so little time!

    Have a lovely day all!

    Jo xx

Back from the first stage of my holiday (Turkey). Have had a fantastic time and can highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks to everyone who sent me tips for food - it was probably some of the best food I have ever had on holiday - very OS lots of slow cooked lamb and delicious casseroles and amazingly cheap.

I met and overacheived my goal to sunbathe constantly - though of course it all started to fade and disappear the minute my flight home was announced! (any OS advice on peeling?!!)

Today I have a mammouth washing session to do to have everything ready for holiday stage 2 on tues. Im off to Prague in true money saving style. Hotel (Hilton) is free thanks to me collecting points for months when i stay away for business and the flight cost £35 so I am going with another mate and we are going to enjoy a luxury break for the price of a take away!!

any prague tips would be very welcome.

So thats me away to wash till i drop - thank goodness its gorgeous weather here today (may sneak an hour on the deck chair to top up later:cool: )

PP hope you have a fantastic holiday - you deserve a good break and you have sure chosen the weather well - we can compare tans when you get back:D

Mushy- hey hun it might seem bad now but singledom can be lots of fun enjoy it while it lasts;)

PPenguin - so sorry about your friend hun well done for the Race for Life at least you are remembering her in a very positive way

    JW23_1_11.gifwith the new job

Off to wash like a washer woman now:D

Sun is shining beautifully here today - looks like the forecast was spot on.
Hayfever woke me with a sneezing bout today and am desperately trying not to rub eyes & sniff. Determined to get this place sorted today as DS1 has finally cleaned his room (looked like a recycling dumpster for paper with notes everywhere!) Now that he isn't studying I don't feel I have to tipe toe everywhere.
Does anyone else find that if one room is messy it seems to spill over and encourage mess elsewhere????
Sorted through LOADS of paperwork yesterday, but as ofices are closed I'll have to deal with all calls on Monday so for today.

Check dates on all meats and cook like crazy!

    Tidy, dust & vacum lounge.

Tidy & clean kitchen & wash floor and fix cupboard door..... again! lol

    Wash downstairs b/room.

Tidy upstairs b/room (can't see floor!) and SCRUB!!!!

    Tidy hall.

    Water all lettuce etc.

Plant up cherry toms kindly given to me by neighbour.

    Taxi DS2 to band practice.

Find something suitable to wear to watch him play at gig tonight!

Report back here to make sure I've got 'round to it' :D

    Thanks for the motivation all!

My plan for the day is, very simple do the shopping that didnt get done yesterday. I'm on my own with DD tonight and this is not good considering I've had b***er all sleep for the last 6 nights. DH is going out with friends at 4pm and staying over there, cant say i best pleased but apparently he cant change his plans because his (childless) friends are to busy for the rest of the summer. Anybody whos a single parent has my upmost a respect I cant imagine how you cope all the time without support it take me all my time to manage one night. Anyway moan over I know I've got alot to be greatfull for.

    Have a good day everyone

Mushypeas, just remember it is better to have loved and lost than to live with the psycho for the rest of your life :D

PPenguin I am so sorry to hear your news, huge hugs to you.

Queenie, I don't know how you keep so up when your little one is ill, I felt like a zombie all this week.

This morning started off well as DH got up rather late yesterday (actually it was 1am this morning. So he sorted the kids out, made me a coffee and let me have a lie in. I got up at 10am and went out to Lidl to shop for ice creams. I actually spent £47 in Lidl but this did include a bottle of their best Malt Whisky and a box of chocolates for Fathers Day. I also bought a pack of their breakfast special which includes sausages, scotch sausage, black pudding and hash browns, so DH will get a nice cooked breakfast in bed :D

Enough ice cream in the freezer to last a month and keep everyone happy :D

DH has put 2 loads of washing out to dry and got one load on. I must get and do some housework soon but I have to pop back to the hospital to get mums medication which she left behind yesterday :(

Morning all :hello: Quiet day here today.

Last night I was exhausted and went up to bed at 9.30 but I couldn't sleep as my brain kept working away. Gave in and took some herbal sleeping tablets (max dose of 4) and 2 hours later I was still wide awake  Then I woke up at 5.15 and then every 15 minutes  Gave up at 7.30 when next door woke up :o:rolleyes::mad: and came down for a quick bite and to open curtains before going back to bed to read :p Finally got out of bed at 9.30 after DD had climbed in with us for a while. Started watching James Martin on UKTV Brightideas. But decided I couldn't spend all day sitting there in my PJs watching TV so I got dressed and starting the washing (no cleaning cloths left and a white & dark load to do, mainly stuff from yesterday thats sweaty  or in DD's case dirty :rotfl:)

OH is currently outside with the pressurewasher cleaning up the patio chairs. We have 8 in total, 4 are okay with just a good wash from the washer but another 4 he's having to use the dirt blaster on  We really need to get some covers for them this year. DD is busy colouring in so I think I might do some bits in the kitchen and if OH ever finishes playing (:p) I might go out and do some gardening as I've still got loads of plants to put out and the tomatoes, sunflowers and peas all need staking or tieing in. Right, time to get on.
