We are just back from watering the allotment, and yes the strawberries were delicious, thank you Queenie, we had them with some ice-cream and cream.

It took us almost 2 hours OH dug the bed for the sweetcorn and put in some more of the Italian tomatos we were given, we just have some celery to go in and the leeks........it was so much cooler up there tonight, think we will have to seriously think about going up in an evening rather than during the day.

We watered the garden here at the house when we got back, I am only watering the plants that we moved the others are well established and should be able to cope for a while.

Our neighbour gave us a melon plant which we have out in a grow bag, they take a lot of water, so fingers crossed for some rain soon!!!!!!!!

I made elderflower cordial on Wednesday, bottled it yesterday, so have just had a sample, delicious.............I love it made with sparkling water and ice cubes.............yummy.............I might just have to have some more.

Ros_V, congrats on getting out of that flat and away from Miss Piggy. I hated shared houses with a passion - I can guarantee you're going to absolutely love being yourself in your new place.

My to do list was a right waste of space today. I didn't achieve anything on it except for a load of w*** related washing! I did however achieve other things - I brought a carbootful of cardboard, paper and so on to the recycling centre - it's good to get rid of stuff like that.

I also got a quote for someone to do my garden. This wasn't a difficult thing to do as one of my neighbours was getting his garden done, and the gardener was just standing there when I went out. It'll cost £300 but won't get done until September as it's currently the wrong time of year. BTW what I mean is that he'll put a proper lawn down including topsoil.

My other achievement today was to get rid of some old university notes - they are waiting in the car to go to the recycling centre. How I stayed awake during that course I will never know...looking back through the notes reminded me how boring and depressing it really was. I hope they get recycled into toilet roll.

Tomorrow's to do list will be remarkably similar to today's...serves me right for being a lazy moo!

    See you all tomorrow.

:hello: Gooooooood Morning Fellow OS'ers :D:D:D

It's going to be a great day today, I've got that feeling

Had a wonderful evening with the boys, d10yo definately on the mend. ;) Thanks again for all the good wishes.

Very little OS'ing going on today, seeing as it's a day of rest, we're going out and moggins Flylady Challenge begins tomorrow

Uniforms will be ironed shortly, before the heat of the day turns that task into sweltering torture.
Chook fed and watered and while we had our bleary eyed stroll, I noticed an old hanging basket is flowering (!) which is rather clever because I haven't planted anything in it! I'm brown fingered rather than green, but somehow a geranium has set it's seed in there and is a really pretty pink. Not sure if I should leave it there or try transplanting it into the border, but, I'm erring on leaving it there if that's what nature intended.

There's a large event going on locally, but fortunately, it means the traffic will be backing up in the opposite direction to the one we are travelling in but I filled some drink bottles half full with water and put those in the freezer to ice up overnight, I'll top them up with water an hour before we go so we have bottles of chilled water for our journey. It's only an hour, but I'd rather keep plenty of fresh water in the car "just in case" - the heat tends to turn quite a number of drivers into gormless lumps, so the traffic could end up blocked up no matter which direction we travel in.

Hope those who were feeling below par yesterday wake to a better day today.
:beer:Happy Father's Day to any and all of our male OS'ers reading, hope you get all you deserve today :D:D:D

    Morning Queenie and everyone else!!

Glad to see you still so full of energy, I definitely want whatever you're on. I'm up early to get this assignment finished. I thought if I started it before it got really hot I'd have a better chance of getting it done.

Following that OS for today is going to be having a clearout. I bought some new tshirts recently to replace some very old ones. Now I need to get rid of said very old ones and hopefully some more as well.

Need to put more soil around my potato plants, and then water everthing this evening. Very relaxing with a watering can, it amazing how quickly it all dries out in this heat.

Also looking at the flylady challenge - think I'll be joining in there, but first I MUST finish this assignment

Good morning to you Queenie. You made me smile regarding hanging basket. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Glad small people feeling better. ;):o:p

Have you only the one chook? Any particular variety? Do you get many eggs. Ours laying 2 a day ATM (between 3 of them) but as DS likes a 2-egg ometette for his breakfast, this isn't enough for baking, so buy some at a nearby gate.

DD's chocolate flapjack went down very well. :j She took as a present for a friend's birthday, in a beautifully decorated margarine tub, and handmade card with hama bead decorations in the friend's initials, hearts, etc. Flapjack was devoured on the spot, and all other friends envious (in kind huggy way that teen girls have) of card. DD seems to always hit the spot with homemade cards. Can't wait to see Father's day creation when she gets home! Her room will need some attention, as looks like a bomb site in a craft shop!

Roz - well done, free at last. Sounds like you've fallen on your feet in new place. :j

Tootles, keep us posted about your melon. No success here in the past, but DD would like to try next year. I made elderflower cordial for first time last weekend. Delish, with fizzy water, ice and borage flowers. :T

Snowy, Moggins, am I missing something here?

Rzl, know what you mean about hype. Took me years to enjoy The Piano (the film) as my sister kept telling me how great it was. You'll look back on it, no doubt, as brilliant!

Shez, hugs to you, and hope things get sorted. ;)

DS sleeping in after we all had a late night at a party. Very enjoyable, and not too much to drink.

Off on our bikes to Clumber Park this afternoon, then DH cooking lamb. :j

    Bye for now, Penny. x

PS DH just arrived home with 2 bunnies in his bag. He's pleased as he hasn't caught anything for sometime. :EasterBun :EasterBun
