I dont feel I can post anything constructive during the period where support for the british war machine is ongoing.

Can someone please tell me when it will be removed?

OP what you have to remember this is not about a "war machine" this is about the brave guys and girls that put there lifes on the line for the country and also lose there lifes for the country.

Politics does not come into it some think its right some think its wrong but these people still do the job there sent to no matter what there thoughts on it so why should we not remember them?

I for one praise them and they should be rememberd and have there day but also be rememberd all year round.

ps: if spelling is wrong sorry its 2:30am and beer makes my fingers hit wrong keys
If you dont like me remember its mind over matter, I dont mind and you dont matter ;)

Sorry what do you mean? what don't you get?
Let me explain, every November we remember the brave heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of others. No matter who they were or what country they served.
Of course we all have a choice we either support this or not full stop
It is after all supposed to be a country where we all have the right to make such decissions without stupid people who have hidden agendas taking a pop.
If anybody has racial hatred comments to make may I suggest they do so
to like minded people and not post vague comments.
Why make a big deal about a flower on a website heading if not to stir up trouble.

I think you are a little confused.

Writing the offensive comments in his signature, which has now been removed, showed that NASA completely fails to understand the principle behind wearing the poppy.

If you think I am making racial hatred comments then please expand. I'm all ears.

The more pertinent question is "how long will sick, idiotic, misguided, credulous, attention-seeking activists like you be tolerated on this website?"

The sheer stupidity of your OP makes me sick and depressed about society in general. :(

Quite ironic that while defending those who died for freedom, you are showing your intolerance of someone with an opposing view to yours.

My grandfather fought in the horror that was WW1, and I am proud that he was willing to put his life on the line for the freedom of others. But he no less put his life on the line for the freedom of those who question the validity of war.

I personally think that NASA is confusing remebering those who fought, with supporting war in general - two different things, but NASA still has the right to express his/her views on this board because the thread would have been removed otherwise.
  • Anyone in any doubt about why we remember the fallen should visit the 'In Flanders Fields' museum in Ypres, Belgium. Its website does not do it justice, but it is a very moving and educational experience.

Regardless of political leanings and your opinion of war itself, you cannot help but be moved by the great sacrifices made by ordinary people for the freedom of others. Show some respect.

It will be removed after Rembrance Sunday which is the second Sunday in November (this year falling on the 8th Nov) nearest to Remembrance Day which is November 11th the Anniversary of the end of hostilities in WW1.

11th Hour, of the 11th Day, of 11th Month, We Shall Remember Them All Past and Present..

I'm not totally pro poppy, but why would it be removed before Armistice Day?
  • I think, like a poster has already mentioned, that there is confusion over wearing a poppy and supporting the (any?) war. Remembering those who have lost their lives to protect their country is NOT the same as condoning the war.

Sometimes, it really is hard to be nice to all moneysavers.

I think you meant to say "Sometimes, it really is hard not to hunt anotherl moneysaver down and beat some respect into them".

    I agree.
