Thanks - he's a star, he comes out with some fabulous quotes sometimes. I should really keep a note of them all!

I know exactly what you mean - one of the magazines has a 'splurge or steal' type section (I forget which magazine it is now), and basically they show you high fashion items, and then a budget alternative. I nearly fell off my chair when I realised the 'budget' alternative of a bag I was lusting over was still equivalent to my monthly net income! :rotfl:

My last handbag was £4 in the Dorothy Perkins sale. :D

My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey
  • Obi... not that I think you should leave MSE... (never ever!!!) but as a starter to your website, why not think about doing a blogspot.com first... its free! plus if you take a look at http://www.petiteanglaise.com/ Catherine Saunders the owner and author started out on blogspot and was sacked from her job for blogging about her life which included remarks about her work.... this led to her winning her E/Tribunal and going on to publish her blog as a book... I enjoyed her early writing on the blog (some is archived on the site) however being totally serious I think your writing far exceeds her style with both wit, understanding, realism and a whole host more. She has the added benefit of having had training as well... yet still you shine brighter in my estimations... You and MrsTine could do it together if you wanted.

I had thought of doing a free blog website thing first, but I think it's a better idea to go straight to website, especially as I'd like to do a lot of differnet things with it. Besides, a friend of mine runs a web hosting company, so I get a really good deal (i.e. free). He rocks.

Gina, that was a lovely thing to say, and I really appreciate it. It's made my day! Checked out the blog you suggested - it's very interesting. Imagine someone contacting you and telling you they'll pay a handsome sum to publish the stuff you vomit onto a keyboard! TBH it would be scary - the pressure to perfomr so to speak. What if you don;t feel particularly funny that day? What if nothing interesting happens?

And as for the Great Handbag debate - I win hands down. For I am the toter of a stylish Boots Parent club freebie - with handy pockets for the various items a 2 minute trip with a baby requires, integral changing mat, and most importantly, puke/mashed banana/leaking wipe proof. Cost me nowt. But then again, I was never going to be winning any style awards anyway. I am currently sporting 3/4 length cargo pants (with unshaved legs I might add), bright pink stripey socks and a beige top with sequins on the neck and an orange patch from whatever it was that DS had for lunch. Niiiiiice.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

Mrs T - you weren't one of those crazy-heads camping outside the store ready for the 5am start were you? Those people un-nerve me. Creepy what some people will do for a few quid of some shoes.....

Obi - I couldn't get one of the free Boots bags when I had Natasha because of a problem with the vouchers they sent - so they gave me £25 in points instead which I spent on a variety of baby stuff and a new lipgloss!
