Which sky box was it? as we have a spare one which MR.B watches sport on and guess what i am thinking.............Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Tenner? HA! I wish! No seriously I wish!
Just short of an hour and a half on the phone to my mum (family emergency... I couldn't hang up and even if I'd know how much it was gonna cost I still wouldn't have hung up on her even to go and dial on my land line) who lives in Denmark - but it was to her land line and after 9pm so you'd have thought off peak and landline even if it IS abroad right? HA!
However I've complained about the cost etc in the vain hope they might knock a little off it in trying to retain my custom next year when renewal time comes round. Hey if you don't ask you don't get right?
Anyway - fingers crossed for the Sky boxDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Mrs t - Grr @ stupid mobile charges. That's disgraceful, it's not like you're competing with people calling for business in the day. Fingers crossed for you love. And well done on the sky box. OH used to get at me for ebaying everything, since getting more than he originally paid for a box of miniatures he's a bit of a convert.....
Any chance of the crumble recipe, and more info on this 'artisan bread' of which tyou speak?
Thanks for the nice comments guys, the dress was by CJ's Bridal, she did a great job, especially on the embroidery. Pity my hair didn;t stay straight, but at least it wasn't too fuzzy.
Not much going on round here TBH. Slogging away, waiting for the next round of debts to go out, doin' ma clicks, the usual. You would not believe how much stuff I've earmarked or Fleabay/Amazon - OH gets twitchy now if anything moves, as he automatically thinks I'm going to be selling it!
Todays tasks for me are a bit mundane - put on a loaf, do my filing, put some more stuff on amazon and do some forward planning on the British foods website, plus out togehter a plan for a website based on this diary thread. That is - small child allowing!
It's strange you know - I'll be talking to people about money stuff, and I'll say 'Oh, and Mrs T did such-and-such', or 'Guess what Snags/Mabel/Dots said the other day' and my mates are all 'who?' - I swear they think it a bit odd that I take it all so seriously, but you do. I look at Monsoon's half price sale, and the ghost of Triker pops up and says 'Come away from the shiny things'. A £2 coin hits my sweaty little paw and I can almost hear the collective sigh/cackle of the DFWs.
So thankyou, everyone, for being such a great community, and for being accepting, and helpful, and generally great people. You all rock.
Todays tip is to try something new. Get your cookbooks out and try a new receipe. Borrow a book from the library on a new subject; something you've never considered before. Try tai chi, or dowload instructions on how to crochet. You may not get on with it, but you gave it a go, and you might just find a new interest. It's danerous to get in a rut - we get one shot at this life, so make the most of it.This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Fab photos! I think that you should try CSA for ex-OH - after all, they can only say No.......and it won't cost much to make the enquiry.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. If you need a hand with the crochet... do shout
The crumble is easy but I looked up this for you Apple & Blackberry Crumble
I only use it when using bramley apples though... the crumble is basically always the same, adjust the filling to your preferencesI have rhubarb and blackberry sat in the kitchen ready for crumble to be added and thrown in the oven tonight
Artisan bread - have a nose over on the OS board - there is a recipe on the last page at the momentit's REALLY simple
You could even make it today
you know you want to
I'm heading in to the office today - test of fire for the old back - eek!
Physio tomorrow so that should be fun!
I've given up telling DH about what Obi done this time, and BOB (whom he firmly believes is a bloke :rotfl:) has said etc
Hey Obi you think that site could blossom into an English version of Martha Stewart? I keep thinking I should try to put something together like that... Maybe a collaboration?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I was thinking along those lines - basically a site for real women who don't think blowing £50 on a handbag is a good thing, don't earn a frtune, live in london or are overly bothered on which celebrities are in bed with other celebrities today - or in fact anything Jordan does. Women who are probably a little overweight, have kids, are on a budget, have normal jobs and don't think nouveau cusines is something they can safely serve the family without getting it wanged at the wall.
In the planning stage, and basically will offshoot from stuff pulled up by my diary, plus I'm surprised that people do actually follow my daily tips, so some of that too. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

I love the sound of the website, I would definitely read that. I can't relate to a lot of the stuff I read in magazines, books etc, because it is either a bit too Bridget Jones, or it's a bit too 50's housewife, or hippy vegan - not that there's anything wrong with any of those things, but I fall somewhere in the middle - I want to be a good wife and Mum, and do the best I can on a tight budget, but I also want to look girlie and wear fabulous shoes."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Exactly Snags - all the magazines like cosmo assume you're not married, don't have kids and are fine blowing all your huge earnings on Karen Miller blouses and basically live like Sex in Th City. Um, no, 99.9% of the female population don't.....
BTW I love Ryan's quote - makes a lot of sense. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
