Nothing again today. Thats 2 days now.
Not only that I ordered 8 books myself from marketplace, and 2 have been cancelled as they say the postage is too high. Tough luck, not my problem!!! I have made this mistake myself but have taken the loss on the chin as it was my fault. I wasn't going to leave feedback, but now it's happened to 2 books in 3 days I will leave negative feedback. They maybe from different people, but this just shows that people will undercut for the sake of it, without thinking about the consequences.
Hi Kat,
Nice to see you back. Since you sent me the list, I have become a pro merchant myself. Can you tell me how to get to the list from my Amazon account, at the moment I just refer to your link and get fresh details. Also can you tell me if it is possible to carry out a search within the list either by isbn or title. I found a book that I saw on the list that you sent me, but can't find it on a more recent list. Could have expired or just missing it on the huuuuuge list.
Thanks.
Matt

I would leave negative feedback if somebody did that to me as well! I've posted out books that I've made a loss on after postage and put it down to experience.
I wouldn't dream of emailing the buyer and refusing to send because I'd miscalculated the selling price! :mad:0 -

I sold a book today for £8.00
Amazon add £2.75 for P+P, so that's £10.75
Great I thought!!!
Looking at the email carefully I was getting only £8.02 after fee deductions!
I couldn't possibly post the book for 2p - and havee therefore made a loss on my initial £8.00 selling price

Amazon always take a big cut in fees so the amount paid towards postage very rarely covers the actual cost (apart from very thin paperbacks.)
I don't ever look at the postage allowance - just at the final figure that Amazon will pay after all deductions and try to judge whether it will cover the postage costs and be worthwhile selling.0 -
Thanks larmy16 !!
It wasnt such a big deal as it became here , but i was sooo disappointed, the book is about a cm thick !
I suppose it depends why you are selling, if you buy to trade to make a profit every penny helps. The books I sell are generally books that belonged to someone else so if they sell im chuffed , i make a few pennies and there is a bit more space in the house.

In reply to the library question a few posts back - my local does paperbacks at 20p each or 3 for 50p. Hardbacks vary but are usually between 50p and £1.50. I don't think I've ever bought one that has sold. DH buys loads to read - no matter how much I point out that if he read them before they were withdrawn they would be free!!
Kat, glad to hear you are doing so well with the list. I happened to own one of the books on it, so netted a nice profit. Unfortunately I haven't had much time to try and source anything on it, but would love to be able to do this full time. Maybe when I retire...
Sales are still steady for me at the moment. June is definitely my best month for a while.
Have a lovely weekend all.0 -

I'm quite shocked by this as well. Apart from the fact that they should have known roughly how much (ie whether it would be covered by what they got for the sale) postage would be when they listed, I can't believe they have the brass neck to say this to a buyer.AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0022 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -
