Heres a thought........... (please this is an idea only - no proof it will work)

Publix, Albertson's (and other major supermarkets) all sell Florida Residents pass (for Universal 12 month 2 park - US & IOA) $139.00 = One day single park entry at the door $109.00) ==== Why not try buying at Publix and if you are asked at the gate for proof of residency (which they never do - they assume you proved at time of purchase) then you are no worse off they will just credit you the price ($139.00) towards your visitor pass.

To your question you could always call Universal 001 407-224-7840 or see http://www.universalorlando.com/Tickets/tickets_2.aspx#

There is no sign saying no entry, or restricting use of the road by WDW employees or emergency services, there is no restrictions on this road whatsoever, therefore NO QUENTIN, IT IS NOT ILLEGAL!!! There is nothing in law that says you must pay for parking at WDW. It is up to WDW to secure their entracnces if they wish to. WDW charge you $14 (may have raised by now) and take no liability for your car or anything in it. If they wanted to make a legal thing of it and force you to pay they would then make themselves liable for the security of your "Paid for service" on their property. As (legally) they only "request you pay" then they can avoid legal action by saying that "you park at your own risk".

And what about WDW - why are YOU defending them (Oh that's right, you are not, you are just attacking me again!). WDW charge approx $75 per day so there you are Mum, Dad, 2 kids so you pay $300 (£200) to go in, and then they have the nerve to charge $14 (£9) to park - Talk about rip-off!

You do not buy car park spaces in a shop! So no it is not shoplifting - What a stupid suggestion!
It is not stealing as they are only legally requesting you pay. (they decide to do this to avoid being sued).
It is similar (WDW avoiding legal action at all costs) if you have an accident in WDW - their Paramedics (Reddy Creek Ambulance) do not charge you for treatment or transport to hospital - Everryone thinks this is WDW being nice, but actually they want you off their premises as fast as possible and in not charging for the service then you cannot sue them (in most cases) unless blatent incompetence or malpractice is involved. Or they say "dont worry mr accident victim, we'll take care of your medical bills" and then they send you a cheque for the first bill with "full and final settlement" and then after you've cashed it and receive another 5 bills WDW states you took full & final settlement = end of WDW liability!

It's all about $$$ - Purely business, that's why the "House of Mouse" is such a huge profit making organization! And good for them!

This site is for ADVICE if the reader decides (rightly or wrongly) that something is illegal or immoral then THEY have the option to ignore it. YOU however have no right to accuse me of suggesting anything illegal when you know NOTHING about what you are talking about.

You have a seriouse case of "arguing for the sake of it".

If you think I am stealing - I'll be going to WDW on Saturday (aboput 9:30am local time) tell the Police - I drive a black Cadilac Escalade, I'll even wait for a while - go on call them, make yourself look even more foolish!

Hi - thanks for all your helpful tips. I'm off to Florida in a few weeks and was just wondering whether you can tell me if the ultimate ticket includes use of the WDW buses in DownTown Disney (we're staying at a hotel in Lake Buena Vista and was wondering whether we can get a bus from DTD to the parks)?
Thanks for any more tips you can give - I really appreciate them :)

  • Hi all

Have been reading Martins advice on disney tickets etc (buying them from the US website as its cheaper) Does anyone know how much tax you might be paying on top of these prices or postage etc?
Just trying to work out how much it will cost alltogether as we have to purchase 5 tickets.

Also the Orlando flex ticket seems like a good deal (5 parks for around £170 pp) but anybody know of any cheaper deals as really we would be happy with just both Universal parks & Seaworld (out of the Orlando flex ticket)
    Thanks!
  • We ordered our tickets and paid in June for Disney/Universal from Theme Park Tickets Direct who are affiliated with Keith Prowse ticket company. Still haven't received them. Have been advised by them that we will get them by 6 August which is only a few days before we go. Not happy. Got this phone number for their office (Keith Prowse - but are in the same office) so should be cheaper than the 0844 number they give, also, was answered straight away 028 9023 2425. Customer services unhelpful and very rude. Did eventually get a guarantee from her that if our tickets didn't arrive by 6th, she would give us 100% refund. Their website doesn't state when they will send out the tickets - now I know why! I would NOT recommend them to anyone. What a shame they were taken off the Moneysavingsexpert website after I had ordered my tickets!!

Yes, any ticket to Disney at all gives you access to the internal Disney transportation system. Boats, monorails, buses...

(we're staying at a hotel in Lake Buena Vista and was wondering whether we can get a bus from DTD to the parks)?

But... There are no buses directly from DTD to any of the parks, you have to go via a hotel.

I have been thinking of saving the $14/day parking charge (which is about the only thing that annoys me about Disney) by doing exactly that. I have a feeling it'd take some time to get home in the evenings when they've got the monorails set to get everyone straight to the Tickets and Transportation Center [sic].

I think that's one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world - how they get 70,000 people to their cars (across a lake or on a monorail) without anyone having to hang around for more than a few minutes while they board the transport, EVERY EVENING after the fireworks.

Just a quick point about the original article. There is a paragraph about No Expiry tickets which I think is slightly misleading. If you buy a 10 day pass and on day 13 have only used 5 of them. The cost of converting the remaining 5 days into no expiry is based on the original 10 day cost, not the left-over days.

That is (at non reseller-discounted prices):

    $258.80 for a 10 day base pass.

use 5 days then pay $222.59 to save the remaining 5 days indefinitely.

Compared to $207.68 for a new 5 day ticket you're out of pocket by $15, not including future price rises.

That said, if you get a park hopper AND fun & more...

    $369.56 for a 10 day base pass.

use 5 days then pay $222.59 to save the remaining 5 days indefinitely.

Compared to $353.61 for a new 5 day ticket you'll save $130, not including future price rises.

Jules WDW transport is free, and goes to/from every WDW area. Like any transport system, it may not be direct from where you are to where you are going. Ask the driver (or other WDW cast member) they'll tell you how to get to where you want to.

    RE: Theme park Tickets Direct
I am having exactly the same problem. They took my money in June and contacted me recently to say that they only had E-tickets available which I didn't want. I asked for a refund which they said they would give, however a couple of weeks and numerous phone calls later, I still have no refund. I have now instructed my bank to put the claim into dispute in the hope they can recoup my money before I go away. I am very upset over the whole matter.
I also ordered 4 Flexi-ticket from Travel Republic and these came a day later if you want a trustworthy company!
    Good luck with your tickets!

Dont buy from Theme Park Tickets Direct, I ordered my Disney Tickets in May 2010 for them to ring me yesterday ( a week before travel!!) to say Disney hadnt sent them the tickets in time, and so they were cancelling my order. Customer Service was poor, took ages to get through on the phone and they take a long time to reply to emails - in the end I went back to American Attractions who Ive used before who are really good.

I am in the same boat, unfortunately. Did you get a refund yet as I'm still awaiting one?

Looking for Disney tickets at the mo for a 2 week holiday in a couple of weeks.

The best value I can see - rather than a 14 day ultimate ticket which seems to be around £223 per adult best price is to pick up from Maple leaf tickets in Kissimmee...and get a magic your way base + water park fun and more 10 day which is $297.92.(saves about £30 per adult on todays exchange rate). You don't even have to book in advance, from what I can see, just print out the prices, take them into their office and get the same deal there.

Anyone used them? Sounds ok to me.
