Hi - just reading the article on Theme Park Tickets.
I think that the info provided is incorrect.
To upgrade from Base Magic Your Way tickets to Park Hopper, or to Water Parks and More (including Disney Quest) is a set fee irrespective of the number of days that you have purchased. It is in the order of $52.00 as a flat rate fee - not "Per day" as the article suggests. ........ I think :j

You are right about the flat fee for 'Hopping' but other upgrades are a little more complicated- the 'Hopping' and 'Water Park Fun and More' being two separate upgrades:

You buy a Magic Your Way 7-Day ticket without any added options. On the second day of your vacation, you realize you would prefer to be able to "hop" between parks on the same day. You can add the Park Hopper option for $55.38 and "hop" for the rest of your vacation.

You are in Orlando for a two week vacation. You buy a Magic Your Way 5-Day ticket without any added options. You visit the Disney theme parks on the first 4 days of your trip, go to Universal and SeaWorld for a few days, and on the seventh day of your trip, with only one day remaining on your Magic Your Way ticket, it suddenly gets very hot outside, so you want to spend a few days at the water parks. You can add the Water Park Fun & More option for $55.38 and get 5 water park admissions to use during your vacation.

You buy a Magic Your Way 10-Day ticket and due to a family emergency you have to go home just five days into your vacation. You can add the No Expiration option to your ticket for $222.59 . (Upgrade cost is based on the total number of days you originally purchased, not on the number of days remaining.)

    Taken from Mousesavers site.
  • I'm going to Orlando in Novemeber this year. Unfortunately we're only able to go for 7 days. I don't want to spend a fortune buying tickets for days that I don't need. I think we'll want to got to the universal parks for 3 or 4 days and a day or two at the disney parks. There will be 3 of us 2 adults and 1 ten year old. Anyone got any ideas or advice on the cheapest way to do this.

    Thanks

    Tyke

Not so for Seaworld FH. We decide to go on the spur of the moment last year (I'm not keen on Seaworld, but got outvoted). Anyway, paid at a machine by the gate and chose the 'Pay Once Come Back All Year' option which was the same price as a single day. Bit of a faff - had to input everyone's DOB, address etc, but no problem having a UK address.

What we hadn't realised was 'come back all year' meant come back for THE REST OF 2009 and NOT 12 months. We had no intention of returning in 2009, so wouldn't have bothered had we known.

If you get one early in your stay and want to keep going back - good deal.

Don't know if there's a way to get the Funcard out there though.

I went to Orlando and did Disney etc in August last year - you'll have a fabulous time!!!

We bought the 14 day Ultimate ticket for Disney and a 2 day ticket for Universal. Personally i wouldnt bother with the hopper tickets as we got to the parks when they opened and we were there all day. No time to go to any of the others!!!

I think i paid £200 for the disney tickets each and it was around £70 for Universal each.
If you pay to enter the parks on the day then its about $99 per person i think.

Oh, parking is (was!) $12 per day at all of the parks so it might be worth looking to see if you can get a cheaper all inc ticket for that.

Re the food etc - we didnt find it that expensive to eat out, although that said, we didnt take any kids!! It might be worth getting any deals you can for the kids and just choosing stuff for the adults on the day. The only criticism i had was that by the end of the 2 weeks i was glad to get home and eat some fruit and veg! Id definately recommend going to a supermarket and getting some fruit to take with you.

    Try www.Floridatix.co.uk or www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk

We are going to Orlando for two weeks - probably will not visit Disney parks as my boys prefer the coasters at Universal. But they do like Blizzard Beach - anyone know if you can buy tickets just for there, or pay on entry?

Anyone recommend good dinner shows and the best deals for them?

    Thanks
  • We are going to Florida this August and found the cheapest Disneyworld tickets are from their website at £225 per adult for 14 days, offer valid till Aug 2, 2010 if I'm not mistaken.

Has anyone bought tickets from themeparkticketsdirect.com? What was your experience? Their Universal 2 park ticket is £82, saving me £40+ for all 4 of use compared with expedia, but I've never used them.
