do you not put meds in a small amount of milk in a separate bottle anyway? That was how DS2 had his. The trick is to wok out the right amount of milk to mix it in, let them take some, quickly switch to plain milk, switch back and forth till it's gone and hope to hell they don't spray it over your face!

never thought of doing this. might do so if we get some kind of medication from the docs.

thanks all for listening to me harp on tonight.

i'm going to go to sleep so i can get some before LO stirs again.

Breastfeeders!
The Breastfeeding Manifesto Coalition is developing a national scheme to
support mothers to exercise their right to breastfeed when out and
about. We are talking to the Department of Health about the scheme and
they may support its roll-out which would help towards the delivery of
Objective 5 of the Breastfeeding Manifesto "Develop policy and
practice to support breastfeeding in public places."

Please click here
https://www. surveymonkey. com/s.aspx? sm=B2o_2fF_ 2bUJ3XJg99JCnGvM DA_3d_3d
<http://> to fill in a quick and easy survey that we've created which
will underpin the success of the national scheme, or read on to find out
more.

The work behind a national breastfeeding friendly places scheme was
piloted in Camden, in North London, thanks to funded by NHS Camden.

The Breastfeeding Manifesto Coalition is committed to ensuring that
every mother in the UK is able to feel supported to exercise her right
to breastfeed her baby anywhere and so we want to roll the scheme out
nationally.

The scheme will be simple and effective and will be delivered using a
number of engaging resources and signage in a whole range of venues. The
most powerful resource of the scheme is YOU and people just like you
across the country - together we'll make sure that many 1,000's of
venues sign-up to the scheme.

The final shape and content of the scheme is still being decided. While
aiming to get 100% sign of up venues across the UK the Breastfeeding
Manifesto Coalition will ensure that the scheme does not imply
endorsement of or partnership with any company. ie: the scheme will be
in keeping with the Breastfeeding Manifesto's commitment to the
World Health Organisation Code of Marketing of breast milk substitutes
and subsequent resolutions.

Before we launch the scheme we need to have an idea of the level and
amount of grass-roots support. So I am writing to urge you to fill in a
short survey and also to forward this email on to everyone you know who
might be interested, so that they too can fill in the survey. Over 9,000
people have signed-up to the Manifesto, with your help we can have more
than 20,000 respondents to this short questionnaire – the whole
scheme is about people power.

Im going to a relatives joint 40th bday party on Fri, annoyed though cause won't be room in the car for Keira and as it's miles out, If i took her, I'd be £30 for a taxi home! Plus it's all windy roads and no car seat or booster seat in a taxi, so probably best not to go down that route. Shame as she loves a good bop to music!

Mookie - Glad to hear you coped fine being apart from Leila and that she had a great time. Must be such a relief that you know she had fun, and hopefully it will get easier with time :)

Hellloooooo

Just popping in before a well earned sleep.

Well, it was as bad as I thought it would be but not any worse!!

Leila was asleep when we got to CM's this morning which is not surprising as I think she picked up on tension and she woke every hour throughout the night for the first time ever! I decided not to wake her and just left quietly.

I had a very heavy heart and a knot in my stomach when I left which stayed most of the day. But I managed to get through the day and get my work done. I found that I could seperate mummy from professional career woman and although I was mummy inside I managed to be professional on the outside.

I telephoned the childminder twice, at 11am and 2pm but wont ring tomorrow.
The CM was worried that Leila only drank 50ml of milk for her first feed with her but she took the rest of her bottles fine so she must have just been wondering where she was until hunger got the better of her.

Leila's home diary says she enjoyed playing with an activity centre and watching the clown mobile and singing nursery rhymes and having a massage. The CM said Leila hasnt stopped smiling and showed me lots of photos to prove it.

Leila was happy but tired when I collected her and went to bed at 8:30pm. I feel proud that I survived and didnt leave at lunchtime to go and get her and I sense that it will all get easier for me as time goes on.

Thanks for all the support xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Aww bless her, how old is she now?
I'm fretting a bit about going back to work, it's only 2 days and Ryry will be in nursery, the same one Aston was in and it has almost all of the same staff there so I feel comfortable, but Aston was 3 when he started there so alot older than 7 months! :o

• Morning all - will read back in a bit, but the news today is that Izzy has now decided that sippy cups are ok after all (they tried her on one at nursery, and now she's watched all the other kids using them, she obviously wanted to get in on the act). The only problem now is that she is more interested in her sippy cup than her breakfast! That and she won't stay in her not-a-bumbo (she has worked out how to take the tray off) so there is banana mushed into the carpet, as she eats it on her way round the room....

Isn't motherhood glamarous ;)

mm- Is the new medication Omeprazol? Good luck with it if it is, Austin wouldn't take it at all, we're back to Ranitidine and Baby Gaviscon and lots of gentle handling and sitting up after feeds!

We found Ranitidine did very little for us. Gaviscon was better than nothing but a lot of palaver for BF baby.

Bruno have you seen the VERY rude word on coutdown that I've just posted on FB? (I nicked it off AM)

It's very well done :) I'm afraid it is an ingenious fake though! But it's excellent.

MM- the liquid suspension of Omeprazol is bloody horrible, i tried it after Austin spat it out and it's vile, but the pharmacist said you can mix it with milk (breast or bottle) to help them take it...good luck!

Omeprazole also comes in tablet form, and at first that's how we received it and it was very very annoying! We much prefer the liquid version, a few ml squirted with a syringe is never a problem - we do it while he's BF, just pop him off a sec, replace with syringe, then back on again.

Since Elijah moved to domperidone and omeprazole he's been vastly improved.
