have a lovely bath, sorry to hear about your back.

i have tried calpol, doesn't do any good with her unfortunately. i too am one in giving it to her if she needs it. i take something if i am in pain, so hate the thought of not giving her something if she needs it.

just feel like i cant find the solution to help my little one and it's me who is responsible for making sure she's okay

I WISH Edgar would take medicine! I hate seeing him in pain and can't do anything for him :(

AF, have you tried a pillow? Or something to raise her head a little? It helps adults with reflux. Don't know how you feel about it due to the risk of SIDS etc, but DS2 slept with a pillow from when he was very young because he had constant colds/coughs. You can put a pillow under the mattress or under the cot sheet so she can't wriggle under it.

ETA, just seen that you have a wedge!

Yeah thats it. Have been told he isnt allowed the rantitine for some reason, but not sure why ???

AF, reflux is horrible, and personally I wouldnt be waiting a week to go back to the docs. My docs are crap, but my HV is the best ever and it was her that got me the referral to the hospital for Dylan. Keep pushing them and you should be able to get something ((hugs)) though, you need them as mush as your LO

my doc is brilliant. i might give him a call tomorrow an see what he says. i get on well with my HV, but she really annoyed me the other week when talking about LO's sleeping and saying 'you are making progress'. i was fuming. i just thought, no, we aren't making progress, i'm not stupid. it's really got under my skin. i woudl have been happier if she said, 'well, we aren't getting anywhere with this sleep problem, what else can we try'.

a wedge wouldn't do much, we had one end of the cot up on bricks, they say get the baby to closer to a 30-45 degree angle before it makes any difference, might be worth a try, i'd definitely say get into the doctor earlier though, I refused to wait as long as they said because it was becoming unbearable, you're not harping on, you're doing what you have to do to help your little one, follow your instincts on this, if it doesnt seem to be working get back and get help again!

Right i really am going to bed now....byeee...x

thanks sami - my allotted number of 'thanks' seems to have run out.

i have struggled getting certain medicines into LO, especially the anit bitotics. if we are given anything, i might ask if it can go in her bottle.

do you not put meds in a small amount of milk in a separate bottle anyway? That was how DS2 had his. The trick is to wok out the right amount of milk to mix it in, let them take some, quickly switch to plain milk, switch back and forth till it's gone and hope to hell they don't spray it over your face!

Evening all.. I just woke up :o

We used to put Rhys' meds in say 20ml of milk, give him that, then another however much in another bottle. Means he got all his meds and was allowed to leave the rest if he didn't want it. Now they just all go in the same bottle because we know he will finish it all :)
