Just popping in before a well earned sleep.
Leila was happy but tired when I collected her and went to bed at 8:30pm. I feel proud that I survived and didnt leave at lunchtime to go and get her and I sense that it will all get easier for me as time goes on.
Thanks for all the support xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hiya Mooki - if you cut out all the waffle (;)) you both had a really good day. Well done hun, I have been thinking of you.
Em - thanks for the thoughts for tomorrow.angelfairy wrote: »hi all,
sorry, i know it's becoming a bit of a habit, but i have only read this page and not all the way back.
i am just in a bit of a state.
sorry, just on my own so need to rant (too much to put in a text to hubby)
:-(
Oh Sweetie, don't worry about reading back, we are here for just this kind of thing.
I can't help with the reflux stuff but it would make some sense.
Have you tried giving her some calpol? Would that work?
And don't listen to anybody who whines on about not giving a baby calpol - anybody who leaves a baby in pain deserves their eyes poking out IMHO.
(sorrynot aimed at anybody on here!!)
Off for a bath, I have done my back in. Take care.

Angelfairy - i don't know the history but have you tried putting her on her left side to sleep as this can help reflux a bit, we sleep austin on his stomach as this is known to help with relfux but obviously there is the sids risk so i'm not recommending you do that, but it was the right thing for us as i found Austin not breathing twice while on his back in the middle of the night and it really scared me! He now sleeps like a dream and is much less sick at night, we regularly get between 7-10hours straight overnight.
thanks for your message.
my LO sleeps on her side and to be honest and does so mostly from birth (the hospital even put her on her side in her crib). now she rolls over so much she does end up sleeping on her stomach at some point.
we aren't having problems with her being sick during the night (have done so when she was younger but that has passed), it is where she is having some acid come up, enough to cause her pain, but not enough to cause her to be sick.
would be estatic with 7-10 hours overnight, very jealous xx0 -
Have they given you any medication to help with the acid? Sorry if youve already answered this but I have a total fudge brain! The Ranitidine was a lifesaver here, until then Austin was in constant pain, and screamed when we lay him down, not just cried but actually screamed, i even recorded it and played it to the paediatrician so they could hear how bad it was, has elevating her bed made any difference? (it didn't for us but just asking)
Good luck, i'll come back on in the morning and try and catch up with you then but good luck, it is HORRIBLE having to listen to them in pain but just give lots of love and cuddles and help them ride it out through the pain and do what you have to to let her get enough sleep until you can get medication...I'm thinking of you, it will get better, Austins a different baby now, we still have some issues but its loads better.

have a lovely bath, sorry to hear about your back.
i have tried calpol, doesn't do any good with her unfortunately. i too am one in giving it to her if she needs it. i take something if i am in pain, so hate the thought of not giving her something if she needs it.
just feel like i cant find the solution to help my little one and it's me who is responsible for making sure she's okay0 -
mm- Is the new medication Omeprazol? Good luck with it if it is, Austin wouldn't take it at all, we're back to Ranitidine and Baby Gaviscon and lots of gentle handling and sitting up after feeds!
Yeah thats it. Have been told he isnt allowed the rantitine for some reason, but not sure why ???
AF, reflux is horrible, and personally I wouldnt be waiting a week to go back to the docs. My docs are crap, but my HV is the best ever and it was her that got me the referral to the hospital for Dylan. Keep pushing them and you should be able to get something ((hugs)) though, you need them as mush as your LOThe two best things I have done with my life

we haven't been given any medication yet (been on gaviscon previously) but we aree due to go back in a week to see how things are going. i am seriously thinking of phoning the doc tomorrow, but dont want to seem to be harping on as i know i haven't given it the time frame he suggested.
i have a wedge which elevates her matress. can't say it's helped on it's own, but it doesn't bother her so i leave it there.0 -

MM- the liquid suspension of Omeprazol is bloody horrible, i tried it after Austin spat it out and it's vile, but the pharmacist said you can mix it with milk (breast or bottle) to help them take it...good luck!0
