  • Just spent £19.48 at Mr M but that included 4 x 4 skinless chicken breasts reduced from £4 to £2 (for the freezer :j).

OH seems happy to join in with this, which I'm really pleased about, and reading the posts on here is giving me lots of encouragement, so thanks to everyone

I have now spent exactly £1500 from my annual budget, so am on track and have just received £60 in vouchers for Mr T from my points.

I save my vouchers up during the year and use them to help pay for the Xmas extras.

Thanks to all the helpers for geting this new thread up and running

... Also, can you point me in the direction of some sample plans with meal/recipe ideas? ...

you might find some inspiration in the meal plan thread - there's a new one every week so always some fresh ideas; or you could check out the Complete Menu Plans collection

Congratulation on your babe shopsalot ;)

This week is going to be more chaos than os; I'm packing here, working at the new flat and moving in on Friday, can't wait! :j but meal planning is out of the window as I have to defrost freezer tomorrow and take last few things to my dsis for storage till after the move and I know I'm going to be so tired this week that a couple of visits to the chippy/chinese are inevitable; I'll try to bear it though :D

Good luck with the challenge everyone!
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

Hmm I am not doing as well as I hoped this early in the month and have spent a whopping £169.78 out of £288 budget.:o I have spent £32 on dog food which has been on spcial offer and will last me into December and £20 on bits for Christmas that were also on offer like some half price sausage rolls I have squeezed in the freezer.

I have got stuff to batch cook with and multiply the contents of my freezer but am finding time and energy a bit lacking. I thought my energy was supposed to come back in the 2nd trimester?

I also have my dad and his wife coming for sunday lunch this week. He lives abroad and I dont see him often so I wont begrudge the lamb, spuds and small cheese board I will need to buy. Everything else from starter to pud will be made from what I have got in. On second thoughts I might use one of the frozen chickens in the freezer and save a few quid on the lamb. :T Will see if I can find a recipe to tart it up a bit.

    Hi all:j

Thought I better pop in & report progress; since that was my downfall last month:rolleyes: - thinking I was 'doing OK' without checking....

Anyhow, spends are £132.14 - spilt between Mr M's, HB, Aisan s/mkt & Mr T's  The last spend (at Mr T's) is still making me mad as I went yesterday with a Mr M's £5 off voucher - no probs in the past - but they told me they don't take other supermarket money-off vouchers any more.....also, when I checked when I got home the butter that should have been 50p according to Mysupermarket.com & also the shelf edge - was 95p:eek: Ddidn't think to check before I left & I think it was unsalted rather than salted, so that's the reason I think, so my fault:D

BTW, anybody who uses quorn, the frozen pieces were 88p a bag in Mr M's:D

A NSD today, need to mealplan & clean out the fridge (!), inventory the freezers, cellar & pantry. Theoretically, we don't need a THING atm:j
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear
