I have included a few bits I bought on Saturday as although not bought in November, they will be for this month!
I went to see my brother and sister this weekend and we went to Sainsburys during the day. I bought some wraps (on offer for lunch next week), oil, biscuits and some chocolates. The biscuits and chocolates weren't really needed. We had a chinese on Saturday night, which I won't count in my total. Also bought a drink during the day which I won't count as I hadn't had a drink all day so needed something as was getting a headache.
Anyway! Popped to Tesco in the evening and got a bag of potatoes reduced to 31p, some new McCoys crisps (oops...!) and some fruity things.
Yesterday I went to Coop for some milk and also picked up a packet of ham which was reduced to 45p from almost £3. I need to split the pack up and freeze it, but that will do me for sandwiches/wraps for about 3 weeks.
I'm slowly working my way through my freezer and taking soup i've made for lunch, so that's helping. Also tidied and swapped my kitchen cupboard contents yesterday so I can see what I have a bit easier now. Although this may mean I spend more as will need to stock up some things.
I went to my dad's for dinner tonight and he did roast chicken with all the trimmings which was lovelyOff to bed soon as think i'm getting a cold

Congrats CW18 on the job, fantastic news - and a discount card to boot, fab
I too would go for the saving option - at least you wouldn't miss the money and it can make a nice little pot for next year. Good luck with it!
Had to spend some again today, because I forgot we needed sugar and drink. I also got whoopsied bread today, as they didnt' have any yesterday and now I refuse to buy full price stuffSo spent £5.09. Hopefully that should be all for this week! (Famous last words....)
Need to spend money tommorow too, which won't affect grocery shopping but my NSDs. My poor baba is teething so I need to get some teething powders. Hoping that the next 3 days will be NSDs for me to keep up with my total!
Hope you're all doing well - stay strong! Jen x0 -
NSD today, not had any of those for a while!
Made spag bol for 3 and cottage pie for 3 for tea today (why can't everyone like the same thing:rolleyes:), have enough mince in gravy for a meat and potato pie for all of us and enough bolognaise for tacos or tortilla wraps, so 3 main meals for 6 people from 1lb of mince:j
Will have to have them for next couple of days cos no freezer at mo, tis broken:(
Not sure what we'll have Friday. It's DD1s wedding on Saturday so prob be in a bit of a flap, so something quick n easy. Maybe baked spuds.
We're catering the wedding ourselves (just a buffet, not sit down meal), but shan't add that to the GC:rotfl:Although the leftovers wil prob feed us for a while!!!
See you all soon.
Well done on job CW18 i'm sure GD will forgive you xOfficial DFW nerd - 282 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

Just updated my sig to take account of the weekend spends. Assumed €20 for DH in the small local SM as I was ill - milk, bread, cheese, cooked meat and 2 pork chops so seems reasonable (and I may even have overestimated).
I spent €14.52 in the fruit and veg shop, including getting 10kg potatoes.
And I was better enough (and needed a few things for mid-week) to go to larger SM on Sunday afternoon so spent €62.03 - although that included a lot of tins (can't get kiddie pasta shapes in our preferred SM anymore for some reason, and a few others I needed) and lots of dried fruit for baking as it is on special (I am determined to make mincemeat this year!).
Now I need to figure out how to use 2 heads of red cabbage before they spoil (from the plot but neither of us has ever eaten red cabbage before).GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897
GC 2011:Overall Target: €6,000/ €5,442 by October

No NSDs yet this month as I spent £4.88 on Sunday and the OH spent £5 yesterday - all on groceries. Hoping to get a NSD in today though, as I can't think of anything we need.December GC: £3500

Yikes! Two days in and already over a quarter of my ambitious budget! In my defence, I bought lots of baking things and icing yesterday to make a special birthday cake for my dad. I also bought an expensive 24-pack of branded cola but it's going to have to last DH the month!
I noticed that Lidl changed twice what I was expecting for the eggs, although I was surprised to see Welsh organic free range at 99p for half dozen so I'm not sure if it was my mistake or theirs. They don't have a phone number on the receipt though and it's out of my way. I called in at a distant Aldi recently only to discover that they'd charged me twice for a couple of things adding over £4 to the bill, but getting it back is a pain.
Aiming for NSD today, at least on the groceries side of things.0 -
Just updated my sig. I've just discovered the joys of whoopsied food so I'm finding it hard not to just pop in and check if anything's reduced!! Managed to get strawberries, choc cakes (for w'end trip) pasties for lunch cucumber and fine beans for 2.33 last night, bargain but I could have managed without most of it if I'm honest!!! Off tpo check the cupboard now and make a list for Thursday shop at A.Food budget: Nov £80 / 2.33 /0.00/0.00/00.00(.)Splurges (if I list them here I might remember I've already treated myself!!(.)NSD 2/3

very proud of myself as I managed to have a NSD yesterday. Was in uni but resisted buying coffee even though I spent most of the day sitting around. Had a friend over for dinner and made a yummy vegetable lasagne. Not hugely cheap but definitely saves on going out and it was nice to catch up.
Will be spending today as I'm meeting a couple of friends for a catch up drink but will hopefully(if it doesn't rain) cycle into uni saving me bus fare.
I'm really enjoying thinking about what I'm spending, knowing I have to write it all downDecember GC £23.43/120 :T
Nationwide Overdraft £1136, Natwest Overdraft £1800(interest free), Natwest Credit Card £155/£350
Aim to clear overdrafts by Summer 2010
