I've bought the stuff ready. Teacakes, maltesers, icing, chocolate piping icing. I'm quite excited. :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

no way am I going to all that trouble for the trick and treaters! my own grandkids - yes. the trick and treaters get the usual - I buy a few bags of individually wrapped sweets, (chocolate limes, humbugs etc, the sort of 'grown up' sweets they dont normally get) then a bag of apples, some mini bananas and a huge punnet of grapes which i cut up into little bunches............and for the last three years the grapes go first!!!!!!!!! closely followed by the bananas and apples - Dont these kids ever get any fresh fruit considering they think its such a big deal when I offer these?

I have no idea. :p Anyway, once I've made something it'll get merged with last years, I think. ;)

You'll have to hang on until 31st for photos. :)

  • My late OH once answered the door to three louts who hadn't dressed up or anything and were just basically demanding something .He told them to go forth and multiply and the next day when we went to go out we found our car had been 'egged'.Nowadays I am never home on halloween as I am usually at my DDs as I don't like the idea of answering the door in the dark anyway. My two DDs wouldn't let me be at home on my own on this night anyway. It will be 15 years this Halloween since we moved down to where I live now from London so its always an odd sort of day for me anyway.
My three smallest grandsons go around the square where they live with an adult ,but they all get dressed up in costume and my DD decorates the house with carved pumpkins and lights I think she enjoys it as much as the kids do.She even dresses up as a withch so when the kids come knocking they get a fright as well as some sweets or fruit .She will carve small satsumas in funny shapes and draw faces on them for the little visitors from the other houses .There are about a dozen houses in her small square and all the children dres up and you can hear them squealing and giggling as they go around the square.harmless fun which they do eventually grow out of .She used to have five of her children dressed up but now the two eldest at 17 and 14 are far too lofty and 'old' to do it .:):):)
I got the Asda free book which has some good ideas for spooky things to make so I will be baking them on Sunday norning to take with me to Dds house in the afternoon
