Fed up vegetarian needs advice please

I agree - i think it is so disrespectful! There should have been a big backlash at GR for that, he should know better! I don't understand the argument for ''they didn't even notice'' Thats got nothing to do with it but some idiots don't get that.
I wouldn't complain about the lack of meat at all - LMcC sausages taste great! There are enough substitutes now anyway that a meat eater shouldn't really notice otherwise (they are a tad pricey though thats my only gripe).Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -

Just to set the record straight, I believe in a 'blind taste test' he fed a vegitarian off the street what he thought was 'cheese and tomato pizza', only to find out afterwards that it had parma ham in it. He was shocked that the veggie guy didnt notice, but the guy didnt mind and just laughed it off.
It wasn't a case of feeding someone meat on purpose - so not really analogous to this situation.0 -
Ah fair enough - but i don't like the man anyway, lol!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0

My DH is vegetarian and my sister always makes a special effort to get him vegetarian food - she usually does a buffet type of meal (she lives a fair distance away so we just go for lunch usually) so he has plenty of choice - and she wouldn't dream of 'hiding' meat in his food - it's just not good manners! Your SIL sounds horrible and should be confronted over it - and then like other posters have said, I'd give her a very wide berth.:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Actually maybe you shouldn't mention it. Maybe you should invite SIL round for dinner, cook them a meat casserole of some kind. Afterwards, tell them you put tinned cat food in it instead of normal meat and isn't it funny how they didn't notice0

I'd be very tempted to do the above, It's truly shocking behaviour from your SIL. Sheba cat food looks very tempting and with a pastry top no-one would be the wiser:D
As for your DH, I think hes possibly a bit dim as regards to kitchen hygiene etc, a word or two wouldn't go a miss.0 -

I understand that even cat food has to be fit for human consumption so I can't see how they could possibly complain...

To be safe I wouldn't actually put cat food in it, I'd just tell them I had
but great idea!

I would do this, too. Well, I'd say it, don't know if I have the balls to actually use petfood.
Just to add my tuppenceworth in. I think they're both disgusting, and not babysitting for her is the least I would do!It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0
