We need an affordable insurance system to make it fairer. Financially prudent, hard working lifetime savers have to meet the huge charges themselves whereas others who may be lazy or squanderers get it all free, subsidised by those who have to pay.

There should be a single charge for parking tickets, not and incentivised structure whereby the victim has to risk doubling the charge if they challenge the ticket. ie £40 if you swallow, £80 if you challenge the fine and fail.

There should be a fast track independent team (a bit like the Ombudsman service) that reviews challenged parking tickets immediately -- not the council who have a vested interest in the outcome) and that team can cancel the ticket if deemed wrongful. Court actions are too far over the top.

Prisoners should serve the total amount of time imposed upon them by the courts, legal jurisdiction is being severely undermined when a sentence is automatically reduced by half and then inmates are given a third off for good behavior.

Make prisoners pay back the costs of keeping them at HM pleasure by seizing all their assets.

Bring back national service run by ex army personnel and restore the pride of Great Britain.

Make all Housing Benefit claims dependent on a National Insurance No. This should stop multiple claims in various councils.

Supermarkets/ food stores should clearly state the VAT rate on the price tag (in-shop & on-line), so we can choose alternatives with 0% VAT if we want.

In the old days we needed Weathermen to move the magnetic clouds around on the UK map/board - now the graphics are so good the presenters are a waste of space, a distraction actually. The BBC should save their cost and have the newsreaders just read the weather from their desk, while we all look at the graphic display of clouds and fog moving about.
