  • I have been reading the posts on here, and have got a bit confused with what people are recommending. I have to send a parcel to the USA. It weighs 5kg, and has dimentions of about 40x20x37....it needs to get there before Christmas, and I would love to pay less than the £68 which Royal Mail quoted! Any suggestions greatly appreciated! :)

    collectmyparcel.com is £33.15

Marine Cargo Insurance. That's it. Applies just as equally to stuff in vans & planes.

Marine Cargo do not offer insurance on lost or damaged items. Solely stolen items which interparcel would have covered.

Surely there is a broker/underwriter that cover such things?

Just an update on my use of parcels please. I very much doubt i'll use them again.

    List of Problems
    1. Parcel picked up a day late
    2. Unable to properly track item

I contacted them friday about the tracking they got back to me today and they have now updated it. But they way they have done it it looks like my item was only sent today! Not last Tuesday as it was. As the Auction was on Sunday the 22nd because of inaccurate tracking I would lose all seller protection because of those wrong dates:eek: as it doesn't look like it was sent within 7 days even though it was.

So tomorrow its been a week and my customer still hasn't got the item (2 day delivery!) So I've had to refund them the postage as an apology.

Thanks. I almost booked a parcel with them today after a recommendation from another forum member, but after your experience I'm glad I didn't.

Mind you, I'm trying another new-to-me reseller instead, so I may yet regret it :rotfl:

Another anti-recommendation for MyHermes. Just had a delivery (as in, about 5 minutes ago) for a £60 item, and they didn't even ask for a signature. Not only that, but it was collected from the seller on the 27th... and today's the 2nd (nearly the 3rd ;)).

We won't be using them for outbound parcels, that's for sure.

I've been using PM for the last month, and been very happy with their (FedEx 24hr) service. Unfortunately it seems that they've just switched to CityLink - which isn't obvious before you book - and I had a failed collection today.

I like the local FedEx guy; going to contact him tomorrow and see if he knows any other resellers because I've had trouble with CityLink before.
