  • Hi,
I am looking for a courier company that I can book and then drop off at my local UPS depot so I don't have to wait in all day?

    I use UPS , i book through www.interparcel.com.
They dont have an option to drop off at the depot, but i just take mine to the UPS depot each time as UPS dont seem to mind and it saves waiting in.
You can find the addresses of each UPS depot at http://www.ups.com/dropoff?loc=en_GB
Any advice I give on these forums is my own opinion only, and is what I would do in your situation or, what I have done in the past, please do not slate me for offering what I see as "sound" advice.
    Thanks

Is it possible to book with a re-seller and do that or will I have to wait in?
The various items are between 3kgs and 9kgs and from 30x40x8cm to 60x26x39cm.
I have spent a few hours trawling through this thread but my mind is spinning from all the various options!
    Thanks in adavance,
    MM x
You can book through pretty much any UPS re seller, just go through as normal, book a collection for a few days after you want to drop the parcel off, then ring the depot before you drop off the parcel to let them know, the two main UPS re sellers around are https://www.interparcel.com and https://www.gwizzcouriers.co.uk

Thanks Obviously the Best. That'll make my life a lot easier.

Can I drop the parcel off the same day as I book then, even though the collection date would be for a few days later?
So once the parcel is put through UPS's system at their depot it would cancel the collection?
Sorry if this sounds a bit dim, I am new to dealing with couriers!
    Thanks again,
    MM x

You could book it for say Monday and drop it off on Monday,
I am not sure if you can drop it off days before the collection tho.
When you drop off your parcel they should cancel the collection.

Yes, you should be able to, even on the day of collection, the only reason I say book for a couple of days later is that it saves UPS a wasted journey

I booked two heavy parcels to be collected from City Link via Parcel2go. I waited in until 2.45pm then needed to go out so we took the parcels to the nearest City Link depot to us at 3pm. Parcels arrived in Scotland at 12.30pm the next day! Very impressed, cheapest I could find for next day delivery and would definitely use them again and recommend.:T

Where you read: "Important Notice: UPS security measures require customers originating shipments from UPS Customer Centers to present two valid, officially recognised forms of ID, and to present packages open when shipping." :(

I wonder if they enforce those rules?
